Tinki,
I haven't experienced the echo-e. general opinions on the echo thread seem to be that the echo carts do perform slightly better than the 510 echo-e version. But that just seems to be typical of 808/510 comparisons and I have yet to know why. One thing to remember is that the battery is just the power. It's the cart that will deliver or not. My echo is the same as the one you will get from smokeless image in that it starts at the same volts and works best with ohms around 2.5-2.8 It's just that you will be plugging a volt into the charger more. I like my echo carts because they have provided the best compromise between cartomiser size and vapor/flavor but the bigger the cart and farther away from the heating coil you get, the less flavor you will get. My single coil echos produce a cooler and smoother vapor than the dual coil echos, which equals better flavor. For an even better flavor, I use the smaller carts like the volt has. those little 808 horizontal coils rock.
Also, remember those prefilled cartomisers come to you in a state where the juice has been allowed to work it's way into the filler and disperse evenly. It's that first fill that is crucial to a good cartomizer performance. There is nothing wrong with paying a few cents more to leave that part to the pros until you get the hang of it.
So my advice is get a battery you are comfortable with and makes you happy. Be it one that looks like a cig, is a little larger like Spaceballrules' new elite or something you can hide under your pillow in case somebody tries to sneak up on you in the middle of the night.
Something that comes off the charger at 4.2volts and/or is regulated at 3.7. Once you have an 808 battery you like, all the cartridges are interchangable, although I don't recommend a dual coil on a standard volt sized battery and you may not want to be seen in public vaping something like this:

...or maybe you do, who am I to judge.
You can always get a 510 to 808 adapter and use the 808 carts on your echo-e as well. 510 to 901/808-D Shorty Adapter
