Been using cartos for quite a while now. My order of adapters, 510 atomizers, and drip tip is coming in this afternoon. Looking forward to dripping!!

I've heard you may need to "prime" the 510 atomizer before using so I tried finding some info. I've watched the videos, search the forum, searched google, search youtube, but cannot find definitive answers...

What is the proper way to prime the atomizer (going to be used for dripping)? 5-6 initial drops?

Prepping your new attys is easy! You just blow the primer out of them by hold a tissue or paper towel to the threaded end and blowing through the open end until nothing else comes out. Put 2 or 3 drops of the juice you're going to use in it before you put the cart on it and you're good to go!

If you have enough atty's to use in a rotation, then you can just rinse them in the sink under hot water for a minute or two and let them dry overnight.

Hope this helps!

First blow through the atomizer while holding a paper towel against the treaded (battery) end so that the packing liquid comes out. Blow hard, you want all that stuff out.

Next put 3-4 drops of e-liquid into the atomizer, you want the drops to land on the mesh hump that sticks up the middle. Then blow that juice out too (into the paper towel). Repeat.

finally, put 3 drops on the bridge again and balance the atomizer on a table upright so the juice soaks into the atomizer and let it sit for a couple of minutes.

When you take your first drag, there still might be a slight primer taste in it, so it's best to just puff and blow the first couple/few drags.

Now it should be all ready to go.

Usually when people say "prime the atty", they just mean to put 2-3 drips of e-liquid onto the mesh hump that sticks up in the middle (the bridge) -- often you'll need to "prime the atty" every time you top off a cartridge.

But in the case of dripping, you are basically skipping the cart so you are just vaping what you dripped in to begin with (or in other words, you are vaping the drips that you "primed the atty" with) :)

make any sense?

I'll have to disagree a little with the above responses. Here's what I do and believe it works the best:

Soak the new atomizers in very hot water for a while, preferably in water you've brought to a boil. You might have to soak them a couple of times to get all the primer out. Just blowing out the primer doesn't get it all out. Then let the atomizers dry before filling with e-liquid (or do the Highping dry burn -- the link is below to find out how to do the Highping dry burn).

Then drip in five or six drops, blow lightly to push the juice down into the ceramic bowl, and then drip 3 more drops. If you don't drip in 8 or 9 drops, you'll get a burnt taste, because less than 8 or 9 drops won't be enough liquid inside the atomizer. Let the atty sit for a minute, and then it's ready to vape. After about nine drags, add three more drops, and repeat this last step until it's time to rinse out the old juice with very hot water and do the Highping dry burn (about every couple of days).

The Highping dry burn works the best if you let the atomizer dry for a few hours, but it will work if you blow out all the excess water. It just might take a little longer for certain atomizer coils to show the orange glow, because the moisture left in the bottom of the atomizer has to be burned out first.
