JUST pulled the trigger on my first REO. (LP Grand)
:D

Do I need to get batteries? I forgot all my AW's are 18490, but I do have these 18650's: are these OK to start?

NCR18650PD (green)
CGR18650CH (grey)

I don't plan get anywhere over 6 amps - at least not for a while (that'd be like 0.7 ohms)...

the green one is protected, i believe. it is a bit taller than IMR batteries, and will permanently compress your spring, making the spring useless, and the mod will no longer work with recommended imr batteries. (don't ask how i know this) also, protected batteries are no longer recommended, since imr batteries have safer chemistry.

the grey one is good. i've been using these in reos for about a year.

The panny ncr18650pd/pf are both unprotected cells with a 10A continuous discharge.
