I went from a Blu to an ego with those poly filled tips to a provari mini with drip atomizers. The Blu was horribly inadequate. The ego made me realize this could work and the mod setup i am using now has made cigarettes unfulfilling and vaping only fills the cravings.

My advice would be to save your money on the smaller ecigs and go straight to an ego or better system. Order one each of bridgeless atomizer, tank system and clearomizer. See what you like best.

Try some sampler packs of juice flavors and mixes of Pg/Vg. I prefer. A 60/40 of pg to vg and extract tobacco juices.

I smoked 15 ish ciggarettes a day and have found 12-18 mg nicotine range to be sufficient for my needs.

I started out a couple months ago with the volcano kit that is like the blu and loved it for about a week. After that I got tired of dealing with the charging pack and then having my batteries seem dead every time i used them I bought an inferno kit (later to find out that i could have spent less money for almost the same thing) from volcano with a tube tank and also an atomizer. I had some problems with the tube tank at first, got it sorted out and it works fine, and discovered that dripping only works for me if i'm not doing anything else. I'm not loving my tank, but it works until I can get out to Vernonia and buy a clearomizer to see if i like that more.

I'm still smoking some throughout the day, and REALLY am hoping that when I find a setup and nic strength that works for me that I will quit completely.

Use the condom method, that seems to be the easiest imo. Fill one of the condoms that came with the cartos, one without the thing in the middle, and fill it about 3/4 of the way. Slowly push the carto down into it. I like to look down the mouthpiece (with the white plug out), and make sure that juice isn't pouring through the middle part. If it is slow down on the pushing. This also lets you see if the filler is fully wet.

Once you are good, blow through the mouth end to make sure you don't have juice in the middle. I usually will pull my carto out of the condom and then blow it into that so I don't lose that juice :p. Then whatever juice is left in the condom I usually pour it into the top....on the sides so I don't waste that juice. Last part will be taking a paper towel and clean out the juice down at the battery end so it doesn't mess with your battery.

I started with a cig-a-like, and was not satisfied with it. Burnt taste, inconsistent flavors, short times between charges, and cost. Those prefilled carts were costing me a small fortune.

I then joined this forum and took the advise of the fine folks here. I'm glad i listened. I purchased a Joye eGo Twist-T 1000 mAh because it has the 510 thread and also bought a Mini Vivi Nova tank (clearomizer). I found a world of difference from what I had. The Mini comes with three heads, but I use the 2.4 head. Using a 1.8 is OK, but one can burn heads and juice too easily, so I don't recommend low resistance for starting out.

Take a look too, at all the different flavor juices available. No prefilled cart has that many options.

The biggest thing I think most new vapers have to get past is the size and that your trading an addiction for an addictive hobby. The regular cig size devices and batteries just don't cut the mustard. I've had two old joytech 510 kits and they were like toys and not satisfying at all.

As far as a suggestion on hardware you might wanna try an ego twist battery with a charger, a vivi nova or vivi nova mini with a couple extra heads (I like low res 1.8 ohm), a bridge less dripping atomizer, a drip tip (I like the acrylic ming style) and a bottle of juice with a flavor you like. You should be able to get every thing you need from altsmoke, madvapes or got vapes which have very reasonable prices. You should be able to get every thing you need for a full set up for 60-70 bucks. Also check out pbasardo and Grimm green on YouTube. Very informative videos on a variety of topics about vaping. Good luck and vape on.

I tried the condom method but got it all over everywhere. I'm using %100 VG, could that be my problem? I'd love to start upgrading to a better setup, but can't really afford to just yet. Not after spending so much on Blu setups and lame cartridges. I'm still enjoying today's setup with the Blu battery on the cartos that I filled. Baby steps, right? Just want to get a system down to keep these things filled. I fear that if it becomes a hassle I may lose interest and go back to smoking more analogs (I'm down to about 50/50 analog/e-cig).

Do you have the bigger condoms, or the small ones that came with the Blu, because those are really small. You can also remove the top of the cartos, and put drops onto the filler, avoided the middle. Tilt the carto and run it down the sides. The drawback to this is you'll have to wait for the liquid to reach the bottom of the filler, where the coil is. I started doing it that way, but found the condom method way faster and less tedious, but either way works.

And yes keep up with it :) When you upgrade to something like a Twist or Spinner, you'll be amazed how well it all works. The important thing is you started the change. And even though Blu's are on the lower end of PV's I was able to quit with them, and I was a 23 yr pack/day smoker and never planned on ever quitting. Not sure where in CA you are but you might want to see if you have a vape shop nearby. They will help out a lot too

Try adding a VERY SMALL amount of PGA or distilled water to thin your 100% VG.

Hi everyone,

I have been loving vaping since I switched to cartos on my Blu. Made the next step last week and ordered one of these - Joyetech Ego T 1000 mAh USB Passthrough.

Is this a good battery? What kind of resistance cartos should I use with this? I've been using standard resistance cartos with the blu. I also used some JC Vea cartos with the Blu, and they seemed to burn out really quickly. Could this be cause of the Blu battery? I'm hoping they work better with the new one I ordered.

Thanks again!
