lol, recommending a $300 PV for a first time user is silly guys. Especially when a 510 is what he find appealing at the moment.

So Myth, if you want something small and cigarette like, check out the Volt or the Bloog. They are quite popular. They are "808 threaded." If you want a 510 threaded device, I would recommend one step up and go with the Ego, as others have suggested. Will the smaller batteries, you often end up a slave to the battery charger. The Ego has more than enough power to get you through a day, and the 510 threading is much more common, so you'll have more choices.

Whatever 510 battery you get, add a couple different atomizers and cartomizers to your order. You'll want to find something you like ASAP instead of relying on the atomizers you get in the kit. With the Bloog or Volt, you're limited to the cartomizers... but I hear good things.

Not really. Almost every $300 PV out there will retain most of its value for a at least a year and can be sold right here on the ECF classifieds quickly.

Also, no one so far has really made that as a first recommendation, but just mentioned that it is a standing favorite. If I'd just gotten a nice VV Mod on day one, I'd have saved myself well over $300 that I'll never get back!

For someone that has the money, it's better to just get one of the best and be done with it :) If you quit, sell the thing and get most if not all of your money back.

? The very first reply recommended a Darwin... lol.

And "best" is extremely subjective. I could easily say the Ego is the best, because a battery costs like 1/20th of the price and it's much more discrete. Most people starting vaping would like to replicate smoking as much as possible. That's why so many people gravitate to KR808's.

Hell, I'd rather have a Reo Grande than a Darwin. But that's my point... new users don't know enough about what they'll like to get into the serious mods.

Not saying Darwin sucks, or isn't a good mod... I just don't think it's a good recommendation for a noobie.

That was MY reply, and it recommended a Boge Revolution V2.1 in the under $50.00 price range, thank you very much.

I said the Darwin is 'my favorite'.
And the only reason I really mentioned it was to make a point about the Li-Poly batteries of those two devices.

My recommendation is you buy every PV available on the market and decide for yourself what's best... lol. As you can see, we can't even agree ourselves.

I just wish I'd come here when I got my first e-cig and had people toss all this crazy stuff at me :)
I payed over $80 for a little KR808-D1 kit and a few days worth of nasty prefilled cartos :(

$300 mod for a newbie is admittedly unorthodox advice. It was more like advice I wish I could tell my pre Vaper self

I started out with an ego-t kit that came with two atomizers. Luckily (or unluckily) one of the atomizers performed fantastic and the other was a dud. When the good one popped I spend hundreds chasing the same performance with little luck.

By then I was hooked cause I also started with a juice I really liked.

Everyone who has been vaping for awhile has had a magic atty and right juice at the right time. And I hope the original poster finds good luck on his first purchase no matter what he buys!
