Hi

Been smoking a few decades and been meaning to buy an E-Cig for a couple of years ,but never did.

I really want to quit and tried just about everything . I need to make my move now before they ban E-Cigs here in NYC.

Bloomberg (our mayor) doesn't really care about our health as he claims,it's all about tax dollars for him that's why he cracks down
so hard on cheaper cigs from out of state .

I notice flavored vape is very popular but that's not for me (maybe down the road when I beat the habit) and looking for something along the lines that taste like Marlboro Red .

Any suggestions ?

Thanks :)

Hi Geric and welcome! Sorry to hear the level of ludicrous that's going on over there, he must be really socking away some major BT cash, the jerk. Anyway, while I can't help with the specific flavor, I'd suggest that you order sample sizes from various vendors to see what suits you. While there's a lot of love for just about every vendor that exists, you may find your favorites from these vendors- Ahlusion, who is par excellent in all flavors, and I'd recommend Morley from Want 2 Vape (they do a great 10 pack 3 ml sampler) and Huntsman from Heather'e Heavenly Vapes. Also Patriot from Good EJuice. I think they all do samples. Good luck in your hunt!

Thanks to everyone for the replies..appreciate it .

I will looked into all vendors mentioned and yes a sampler is a great idea !

Question..will all liquids work with all E-cigs ?

Also...I rather buy from a company that makes the liquid in the USA as oppose to China . Is there a list of USA companies that make the liquid somewhere on this forum ?

Thanks again.

I, too, have been a fan of Marlboro for my cigarette smoking pleasure. That is not to say I haven't smoked everything under the sun, but it was my preference. I have started out with a smooth tobacco flavor (by Simply Vapour, but I don't believe they sell online yet) along with a menthol and a couple others. I was a huge gum chewer (due to the smoking) so I also have a mint flavor. I switch off all day long between the tobacco flavor and the mint one (similar to when I was smoking i.e. smoke a cigarette then pop in a piece of gum). It has been working for me.

I have a sample pack from Vermillion River that I haven't tried yet. I'll try out the Kentucky Premium Brand and let you know what I think. That is their highest rated juice, I believe. I'd recommend trying out a sampler pack of various tobacco flavors to see what might work for you. Halo also has a nice sampler pack (that will be my next sampler purchase).

Good luck!

Yes, all the liquids will work with e-cigs. I hope BillBeck will be by to show you a complete kit he found that is a great deal. All my suggestions are made in USA ( and actually are natural extracts vs tobacco absolute). I also suggest that you get the samplers till you can pin down that you are not sensitive to the PG or VG. So I'd suggest a 80/20 PG/VG 70/30 PG/VG ratio a 50/50 PG/VG and a 0/100 PG/VG. The other question is how many did you smoke so we can suggest the nicotine level for you and make it as painless as possible to start.:)

Okay, I chickened out on the Kentucky Premium Blend (heavy caramel smell when I opened it) and instead tried the Kentucky Vanilla Blend (the smell wasn't as heavy). I realized I am in no position to be giving advice on liquids!
I'm too new. It is vaping fine and I like the taste, but it definitely doesn't taste like a cigarette. Sorry! I did try, though.

I was looking at Halo's website and love that their juice is made in the USA.

I will have to try a sampler or something that's for sure. Please post up when you get the halo juice .

Hi Hulamom

Thanks for your time....

I don't know what "80/20 PG/VG 70/30 PG/VG ratio or a 50/50 PG/VG " is or what PG/VG means. I guess I have to head over to the juice section..I just figured I spend some time in the newbie forum but I guess I need to learn some more..sorry.

I smoke a pack a day and never ever go over regardless of when I run out , but a pack usually lasts a whole day so
I never really run out .

I'm reading about how some taste dry..oh lord I can't have that I'll gag and never will quit smoking. When I go to
dentist no cotton is allowed in my mouth due to the dryness of it..very bad for me=puke.

Are there really some juices that are dry like dry wine ?

Thanks

PS: I don't care about smell..I was born with no sense of smell but I can taste very well so taste is very important . Yes some of us can taste very well without smell. By the way,Smell is flavor not taste.

Being a retired (at the age of 45) truck driver I know the prices of Cigs in NY... I don't see how the hell you all do it... 12.00 a pack... And now with this increase about to happen on regular cigarettes you all are looking at damn near 20.00 a pack.. I am a newbie to this to. I was skeptical but I went from 2 packs a day to 0 in 4 days and this was last week. I have several different flavors I do though out the day. it depends on what mood I am in. I have a USA Mix that's pretty close to Marlboro. I live here in in Indy so I get my stuff either on line from Best Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - MyFreedomSmokes.com or you can email chad directly a chad@myfreedomsmokes.com . He will definitely set you up... Or I go to our local Vapor shop here. Their juices are really good as well. Yes They have a website Welcome To The Only Vapor Shop In Indianapolis And Central Indiana....... . You can order from there as well. The flavors I have are USA Mix, Peach, Cherry (Awesome), Black Cherry, Carolina Tobacco, Granny Smith Apple Pie, Strawberry, Pina Coloda, and Hot Cinnamon Rolls. I am doing the hot cinnamon rolls now and am gonna try a mix of this and Granny Smith. The HCR has a Carmel taste to it.. It all depends on what you have a taste for...

I am new to vaping and still haven't completely broken the 3-4 decade "analog" habit....but I started off with the cigarette tasting juices and found that I didn't really like them at all. I kinda figured that vaping just wasn't going to work at all. I decided to try something that sounded good just for the heck of it. So I tried a pineapple upside down cake juice in 30% strength and it was really satisfying. I have cut the bad habit substantially.

So you might want to check out some flavors that you would like other than a tobacco flavor. You can get several small bottles of juice just to try something different.

Yep .it's crazy here in NYC at $20 a pop..screw them !.Born and raised here and can' wait to move..I'm done with the rat race..serious .
I'm just a 9-5 worker and it seems like I work just to survive.

Thanks for the links..I'll look into the USA mix that's like Marlboro red as you suggest.

I think I'm ready to quit at this time in my life..not so much the cost ,just ready to quit. Besides I would hope the entire NYC would quit to screw
Mayor Bloomberg out of the taxes.

I would have to try the tobacco first being it's all new to me and need something that taste like smokes..I'm not big on sweet taste but will give it a go after I try some tobacco juice first if I don't like the tobacco juice.

I'm not going to give in that easy :)

    Thanks

Don't worry Geric, it'll all make sense soon. Basically the flavor, or tobacco extraction is put in a solution made of a PG/VG mix (propylene glycol/vegetable glycerin) As some people have sensitivity to one or the other, it's best to perhaps start out with a 50/50 ratio. When you go to a website and click on a juice, it will bring up a window or a dropdown menu ask you what ratio PG/VG you want and how many mg of nicotine. As a PAD smoker, I'd suggest 18mg. You may need to go up to 24 mg, or down to 12 mg depending on how you feel on it. PG helps the flavor, VG provides the vapor clouds.

OK, I found Bill's post re a good starter kit - here it is, and it is a good deal

    http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

The nice thing is you get two batteries so one can charge while you're using the other, plus you get the charger and a couple of clearos to start. You will need more clearos (the top bit with the juice holder and the "atty" which heats the juice). Anyway it's a great starting point.
