I'm pretty new to vaping (3 months) and I've gone from 2 packs a day, down to 1 or 2 cigs a day using 510s.

I have what I'm sure is a basic question about 510 atomizers... I know that the low resistance 1.5ohm atomizers are supposed to be the best, with the standard 510 batteries, I guess this is 3.7 volts?

Could anyone who knows more than I do, shed a little bit of light and tell me what are these things?

In case links are not allowed here and something automagically removes the link, what that is, is a "ReVolver Heavy Hitter X2" atomizer.

I've used them, I personally like them a lot more than any of the other LR atomizers that I've tried, but I'm a little tired of paying $14 for an atomizer which I'm sure goes for $10 or so.

The inner threads read BG1003, which from what I've read means BogeTech?

I am unable to find any info regarding what exactly a BG 1003 is on google, beyond some posts on an italian forum.

Could anyone tell me... what are these things? I'm a little lost with regards to LR, reg, and HV. LR = 1.5ohms, regular is 2, HV is 3.5ohms, what are those things up there? And if I like them, what is something similar to them I could purchase which does not cost $14?

Thank you for your time and sorry for what I'm sure is a dumb question. I have tried to look up the answers, but again, trying to locate what a "BG 1003" is, fails for me with only 2 hits on all of google.

Thanks for your time.

Well, there are many suppliers on here for your atomizer needs that avoid the branding that makes that price so high for you. I have never spent more than $8 for a 510 atty myself.

The unloaded voltage of the 510 battery is 3.7, but the loaded voltage is different and that loaded voltage is dependant on exactly what battery you have.

I do not know where the idea that LR attys are the best. They are great for some things like increasing TH, a bit more vapor, and quickly degrading standard 510 batteries. If I don't want to wear out my standard batteries quickly, don't need that bit of extra vapor, nor do I want the extra TH, then the LR's are far from the best for me. (I do like the LR's as I am a TH person. It is just that not everyone is. Plus I use 18650 batteries and don't have an issue with my battery being worn out quicker due to the increased current requirements.)

Now even for regular attys, there are 3 common manufacturers and they are different. I like SLB510 for fruit flavors. I like Joye510 regular attys for pipe tobacco flavors and non-fruit sweet flavors. (Use Joye510 LR's for cigar type flavors)

HV is for just that. High Voltage. I uses SLB & Joye 510 HV attys when using 5 or 6 volts. (Makes Halo Bella Vanilla an amazing thing)

Now, I have a bunch of different attys from a bunch of vendors and I have never paid over $8 for any of them.

But attys or batteries are not how I found satisfaction with my PV. That was due to finding the right juice. All the attys and battery experiments we for sh#@+ and giggles.

@hoosier Thank you very much for the detailed information, I am learning as fast as I can, but there's a bit more to all of this than buying a pack of smokes and lighting a cigarette ;-)

Based on your input, I am going to order 1 or 2 of various 510 atomizers to try out, and see what I like, so I have a reasonable overview.

My understanding is that the 16850 is a much larger battery, with 3.7v output, but far greater mAh than the typical branded 510, so that a low resistance atomizer having a higher drain on it, makes no real difference because it's going to keep going for quite a while in comparison to the "normal" batteries. The downside of course being that it's physically larger. Please correct me if I'm wrong in what I've said :)

Yes I like throat hit a LOT :) I'm looking for something that smokes as close to a "real" cigarette as I can find, and then optimizing that to make it better. I've found that most of the 510s I've used fit that description for the first week or 10 days and then rapidly go downhill from there.

Specific question regarding HV (Higher Voltage?) what exactly is the overall advantage to buying a device that outputs 5-7v vs. 3.7v + a LR atomizer? I realize that much of this is subjective and personal preference, but since you seem to know far more than I do, could I ask why you like it? What's it feel like in comparison to a "regular" 510 with a LR atomizer?

@vikings, thank you for the link to Eastmall, it looks like something I'd want to utilize once I order 1 or 2 of various atomizers and batteries I'd like to try, and am pretty sure that I want to continue using a given product and order 3-5 from Easmall, and if I like their specific product, order another 50-100.

My single question would be: what has your experience been with ordering direct from China? What's the overall failure rate for packages clearing customs and never arriving (in which case I'm guessing you don't get a refund, the single obvious advantage of many of the "branded" products I guess being the ability to call up customer service and complain to them, expecting some sort of resolution, if none is forthcoming I can just call my bank and usually resolve it that way, whereas I am guessing this is not going to be an option ordering from China).

Thanks for your time!

The basic 510 batteries hit around 3.1v rather than a true 3.7v.
I know theres a thread around here somewhere (lol cant remember which subforum but I know Ive seen it) where one of the members measured a bunch of different batteries to find hte exact outputs (It might have been ScottBee iirc).
The LR on a lower v device (like the 510 standard battery) will give you a simulation of higher voltage vaping.
If you can search for Scott Bees posts on teh subject it probably has the technical info you want - if I could find the link I'd throw it up for you but I cant locate it :(
I also tried out a 5v PT to see if I liked the higher voltage vaping - the PT is a cheap way to do it without buying new atties :)
Ive since gone on to a Buzz which is a variable voltage battery mod - I dont need LR atties on it, or HR either - and I can choose voltage depending on juice flavor. For ME its a perfect solution but before I bought it I was doing well on the different PT and an eGo (just got fed up with being wired to my PC like an extra harddrive lol)
