I've got eGo's and mods (see my sig line). I don't use the eGo's anymore for a few reasons. Namely, I get a better hit off my mods, the batt's last a lot longer, they're more durable, and the batteries are cheaper.
The eGo runs at around 3.2 volts, my mods run at 3.7 v. Which is gonna hit harder. Also, there's absolutely no problem running 1.5 ohm LR atty's like there is on an eGo. I can also run the RoughStack at 6v, or 7.2v if I want.
In my Maxi RoughStack I'm running 3000 mah batteries. I usually use the same one all day and charge at night. I've forgotten to recharge and have gone 2 days on a single battery.
My Maxi RoughStack is basically an aluminum pipe. Unless I drop it on the atty and snap it off nothing is going to hurt this thing.
Those 3000 mah batt's cost $9.99 each. 1200 mah batt's for my boxmods run a whopping $4.29. They all use the same charger too.
Drawbacks, the Roughstack looks like a pipe, cause that's what it is. Box mods look like the detinators for my RoughStack.

I also have eGo and Riva batts. I chose my mods because I wanted warmer, denser vapor and more flavor. I drip almost all the time and using LR attys at 3.7V is just the logical choice for me. My mods also allow me to use the same voltages as cskent, plus being able to vape on the same battery for a couple of days is very nice. I use 18650/2900mAh batteries with my Indulgence.
Mods are built to last much longer and some have a variety of options or upgrades that you just aren't going to get with the eGo/Riva kits.

I have an eGo that I'm very content with as well, but I plan to get a mod for the simple reason that I want to use something that doesn't take proprietary batteries. I'm trying to build up a stash of supplies in the event that everything "e-cig" related becomes hard to obtain due to the FDA/Big Tobacco/Big Pharma getting their way (which, in all honesty - I don't really think is going to happen, but I still just want to be prepared)
Proprietary batteries (well, ANY battery) will die eventually if stored for too long, so I want to use a device where I can easily buy the batteries as needed.

Longer battery charges, warmer vapor, more throat hit and longer consistent vapor and able to
use the LR cartomizers which help in my overall vaping satisfaction and so very durable and well
built.

well, i owned an ego and was very pleased. until i looked upon my coffee table and saw endless juice bottles, paper clips, paper towels, blue foam, cartridges, charging equipment, (usually being used), etc...
the ego is great! but if you want hassle free, consistent vape, go for a bottom-feeder! i chose a reo grand. and i'm not looking back.

I use the Reo Grand. It is a bottom fed juice mod that uses an 18650 battery. It is in my opinion the easiest way to vape. To start the day, I fill up my 6ml bottle with my favorite juice, put in a fresh battery and I'm set for the whole day. No need to fuss with carts, cartos, or dripping. easier than smoking an analog. pick it up and start vaping. no batteries to keep recharging through-out the day, the 18650 will get a full day plus. this is the reason I opted for a Reo. plus, the Reo will run any atty out there with the right adapter. the durability of the Reo Grand is unmatched it is milled out of solid aluminum, I have dropped mine a couple of times and picked it up wiped off the drip tip and kept vaping. There are many reasons to own a mod, but for me, these were the most important

The fact that they would even think about banning is unbelievable. You would think that big tobacco might use this to come out with branded juice, manufactured in a validated controlled manufacturing facility. Using their production standards and name recognition to build additional value in the product and drive prices up. They would probably do well saying they're responding to the good of the public health while avoiding (at least for now) the sin tax that is imposed in most states on analogs. Just goes to show that when the govt. says something is for the health of the nation that the fiscal parameters are favorable so it's worth getting behind.
I use mods so I can hit harder in bar fights...sure the ego is like a nice roll of nickles but my mods I can use as a small bludgeon.
The REO Grand can be used with 3.7v, 5v, or 6v battery combinations.
I love my REO. The convenience of not having to mess with filling cartos and changing batteries all day is wonderful. The biggest problem I find with it is I generally get bored with vaping the same flavor all day long so I keep my eGo-T with an alternate flavor sitting nearby also. It's funny because when I smoked I never even thought about the flavor of the cigarettes. I never felt the desire to have alternate flavors sitting around.
tigerlily, as long as the flavors are compatable, you can always drip a little of a different flavor into the overflow of your REO. I like it for a change of pace.
