I've read the warning on this site about how poisonous nicotine is and how anything coming in contact with it should be considered hazardous material. My concern from that comes from refilling my cartridges, sometimes a slight drop will drip down the mouthpiece(always wash my hands afterwards) and my dropper is seperated from the bottle that i keep in a little plastic container(with the liquid nicotine on the sides from putting it in the bottle, obviously). I also use a paper clip to push the liquid holding part of the cartrage in and out, and I just keep that on my desk.

Should I be worried that nicotine might be building up to a toxic level on the paper clip and/or dropper? Is wiping the drops that drip off of the cartrige enough or should i throw those out? And alot of the time if I use too much liquid I will get liquid in my mouth as I inhale...this seemed to be a common problem here so I didn't think much of it...but its better to be safe then sorry, which is why I'm asking.

I think we would all be in deep trouble if a little liquid in the mouth or on the skin caused problems. To be safe, always rinse mouth/wash skin imho. I would not worry about your paper clip or dropper, but do make sure that kids and pets can't get at them. That holds true for all vaping gear. Just my opinion, but luckily I'm not dead yet. :)

Sure, a little bit of common sense is in order, and keeping liquid away from children and pets is important.

But, remember that while pure nicotine is very toxic, our liquids are far from being pure nicotine. The very highest concentration you could buy - the 36 mg liquids - are only 3.6% nicotine. Further, absortion through the skin is much less than from ingestion.

Thus, you really need not be so fearful of the drips and drabs. I get it all over myself, constantly, and do nothing more than wipe off with whatever is handy at the moment.

Hi. Newbie here myself. I will be getting my first ecig in a couple days :) I ordered some blank cartridges and apple 8mg e juice from totally wicked. I was wondering how many drops should i put in the cartridge when i first start? And does anyone know how much nicotine is in one drop of the 8mg juice. I am a half a pack to a pack a day smoker(camel turkish silver). Does anyone know if this might be enough(the 8mg)? I've been reading around the forum and a lot of users said they over did it with the nic in the beginning. So i purchased the lowest nic mg to start off with just to be safe.

I would like to be able to vape like i would smoke a regular cig but not get too jolted.
If i were to place... lets just say 2-3 drops in a empty cartridge of 8mg e juice, how much nicotine do you think i will be getting? I want to try and get the right amount of juice to vape that would be considered to the equivalent of one cig(i'm guessing 10 puffs at least), and the amount of nic in one cig(about 1mg of nic). So my biggest concern is how much nic would be in about one drop of 8mg Tw juice.
Sorry guys lots of questions!
I am reading a lot on the forum about cutting the juices with pg or vg. But i haven't recieved my ecig yet so i'll have to see how my first few experiences go before i cross that bridge.
Thanks for reading my post :) any responses will be helpful and appreciated greatly.

When you asked this the other day, I replied that you should be filling the cart regardless. I repeat that again to your new post here - you should be completely filling the blank empty cart regardless. If you do not fill the cart you are highly likely to burn out your atomizer by running it too dry, and getting your filter stuck inside the atomizer and burning the cartridge fibers.

Your proper count of drops won't all be smoked anyway because that is not how they work, they do not wick 100% of the juice into the atomizer.

It's fine to start with 8mg and see how it goes.

It seems that you are trying to plan based totally on cigarettes, which these are not. You will hopefully understand better when you start using your ecig. If you have not watched the new user videos, they are recommended:

Filling a blank cartridge is alot different than dripping or topping a cart off. For my penstyle for instance it takes about 1m of juice to fill it from empty. The penstyle is either the DSE 801 or the RN 4072. Knowing which e-cig you purchased would help in answering this. I for one use a needle to fill my carts so I dont use droppers unless I am dripping onto the atomiser itself.

Hope this helps some.
