Greetings,I just got on here today.just switched from the crappy cartridge ecigs to a veppo vetta with the tank,and I'm much happier. Can anyone tell me what the advantage is to using a variable voltage model? I would think you would just crank it to the highest setting anyways. Thanks.

Welcome to ECF. With the VV you can adjust the voltage until you get to just that right sweet spot where your vape is wonderful. It's different for each person. It depends on if you want a cool vape (lower voltage) or a hot vape (higher voltage). Congrats on switching to a better life. Enjoy your journey!!!
thanks! I have fooled around with 6 or 7 different brands of the cartridge ecigs I found in the truck stops or 7-11 over the last few years,but this time I am finished with the real cigs for good. Started smoking at 8 and am 51 now. Didn't realize there were so many options to these ecigs. Am really starting to enjoy the different flavors and base mixes.

I have to admit, I had to Google what veppo vetta was. Look like they should be nice batteries. Although they claim they are better than Ego brand, I have a suspecion that they are just a rebranded ego. Doesn't matter, Egos are a nice battery.

To get back on track to your question, Tnt answered well. Instead of being limited to the regulated output of your battery's 3.7v, a variable voltage APV uses a boost circuit to increase the voltage given to the heating coils. It's not just about more vapor or hotter vapor.
Some juices have better flavor production at different voltages. Say for instance, fruit flavors are delicate, and are best vaped between say 3.4 and 3.7v . My favorite coffee flavors taste best between 4.4 and 5.ov . So, as Tnt pointed out, each juice as a "sweet spot" that variable voltage allows individual vapors find for each juice.
There's much more to learn here. Take off your shoes, pull up a chair, and get your vape on here as you go over all the information. There's a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people here to help you with the overwhelming amount of information.

Don't let all the technology options scare you. ECF is a great place to do your research, find options to try and ask questions. Welcome.
I've found also that throughout the day as my batteries lose their charge gradually, I can vary the voltage to accommodate.
Different attachments such as different atomizers, carts, etc also operate at different OHMS having variable voltage can also allow you to match up your battery output to whatever attachment you're using, allowing you to get at the sweet spot.

For me the darker tasting flavors are better at lower volts and the light flavors higher. It's really all about personal preference. And the more ability you have to find your preference, the better experience vaping you'll have
