Noob wants to make RY4

Hey guys! I've read a little bit about DIY and thought it might be fun and cost-saving (in the long run). It's a bit confusing right now so perhaps you guys can help.

About me:
- One month into vaping and using an Ego-C Twist and T2
- Sampled about 15 different e-juices from various vendors
- Have steady hands, cautious, and can follow instructions well

I really like Liberty Flight's pre-made RY4 so far and want to make an all day vape of 80/20 PG/VG, 12mg NIC in 50ml bottle.

Aside from PG, VG, and flavoring, what do I need to get? I understand that the end result won't taste the same and there is going to be trial and error.

ok here's a list:

1. you need some nicotine which comes suspended in either 100% PG or 100% VG...i suggest for the juice you want to make, that you get the 100% PG version... you can buy this in whatever concentration you like but since you are new, don't get anything higher than 48mg...beyond that fooling with nic can be dangerous and for you first time you dont want that headache

2. You need some pure pg and some pure vg

3. You need some ry4 flavoring...this is sometimes sold as ry4 already mixed up...there are also recipes here that other have used for ry4 but that involves mixing several flavors...its up to you but if you want to keep things simple, get an ry4 mix...at least until you are comfortable with mixing

4. Get the breaktru calculator and spend a bit of time understanding what each field does...its a very handy tool

5. get a few syringes in varying sizes and a few needles with varying guages

6. Read all the stickies on nicotine safety...this is important...keep safety first.

I would get 100% PG w/nic to cut down with the VG and PG
I have a ton of Double RY4 Flavoring from TFA since I love that stuff.
Seeing as youre from NYC PM me maybe I can give you some to try out and see if you like that flavor.

mdv what does that ry4 from tfa taste like? i've got some ry4 here from highbrow that i dont care for much but i never had an ry4 prior to this so maybe i just dont like ry4?

this taste all floral and perfumey...i was thinking it would be a tobacco with caramel and vanilla?

I taste the caramel and vanilla in it. I usually add a couple drops of EM to make it a little sweeter and some AP for a slight nutty taste after a 1 week steep its my ADV.

Thanks guys! Very helpful stuff. It's tough to sort through all the info here.

Here's my early checklist so far:

- USP 100% PG with nic
- PG
- VG
- RY4 flavoring; caramel; vanilla; other flavors
- Syringes; needles

I already have small glass bottles, safety gloves, goggles, and funnels. I know I'm missing some more.

Mdv what % of ry4 double do you use? I made some last night at 10% and it wasn't very good. Not horrible but wasn't flavorful like the shop bought stuff. I have it in the usm maybe needs more steep, I'm not sure. I also made a small bottle that added caramel and another that added cotton candy (don't have any em yet). To try and see what difference they make.

I use it at 10%. Let it steep for a week the flavors really come out. I didn't like it either at first then went back to it after about 2 weeks and it was amazing.

Just curious... Any of you guys buy PG/VG off a very big auction site? They're sold out of PG on Wizards Lab. I'll check other vendors.

As weird as this sounds, I found RY4 to taste very much like biscuits (cookies) so I have flavour concentrates for both. I recently mixed some (bought) 12mg RY4 with some 12mg flavourless I'd DIYd but added a few drops of a biscuit/cookie flavour so the flavour wasn't diluted and it tasted exactly the same! It was amazing!

Another tip is to have different sized syringes. I have a 10ml which I've never used, a 5ml which I use all the time and a brand new 2ml. I bought the 2ml because often the EjuiceMeUp calculator gives numbers which are impossible to measure on a 5ml syringe so this should help make it easier... Seriously, 5ml and 2ml are well worth having. Unless you're making bucket loads, 10ml might not be helpful to get you accurate measures.x

I get the unflavored nic from myfreedomsmokes and the ry4 tfa....I mix 20% flavor and 80% 24mg nic and a menthol crystal...great ry4

This also has to steep for 1-2 days after letting it sit in hot water for 20min

When I first mixed my double RY4 it was horrid to me...tasted awful....to me. I let the 15ml bottle sit for a couple weeks and was pleasantly surprised as I mixed with only 1% RY4. I built it up to 12% and am enjoying the vape as I speak. Initially I had written off the flavor but I guess steeping really does help.
