noob with an egrip

Hello everyone, I've been lightly vain with p.o.s. vapor pens for a while now and just got my first box mod the other day. The pens never really helped me steer clear of cigarettes and this egrip has gotten me from 15 a day to 5!

I am fairly inexperienced with the ability to adjust and tinker with voltage/wattage and what not but have done a little research on the egrip and upgrades. I'm still using the stock base ( want the rba* not sure if that's right*).

I basically want to know whathat other users of the egrip have done to customize or improve their cloud production, draw, airflow ect.

Also I've read you can clean out these coils so I don't have to buy a box of 5 every 3 months.

You can clean almost any replaceable coil heads. I pull mine after a few days, and soak overnight in cheap vodka, then rinse under warm water and let dry for a few days. I also rebuild coils heads (Nautilus and Kanger, both as BVCs). Haven't tried rebuilding the stock heads for the eGrip yet (haven't needed to).

I did some moderate modification to the eGrip's RBA: hated the super airy draw. Drilled holes (and plugged the bottom of the RBA) so that the stock airflow is how mine breathes. Will warn you: we're talking some VERY small parts in there, so be careful if you want to go that route

I can only imagine how small the parts are with how tiny those torx screws on them are haha.

I've got such high expectations from this little mod box and want it to be the ultimate "out and about" machine. I can't wait to get tinkering and building coils.

To be honest, the stock RBA coils are pretty good. I would just use these to start with, and learn how to wick first. Get to enjoy the device first and then start building your own coils. No point getting frustrated for nothing.

I also just got the e-grip and was told right away to get a rebuildable head. While I did not struggle to find one online, I did struggle with picking the rest of the stuff that is needed. What kind of cotton do I use and which gauge and kind of wire? The only cotton I am able to find is called "Organic Japanese Cotton" on the "VapeNW" Website. Are there different kinds even? Also the wire is letting me choose between 22 and 27 awg. I'm guessing that's the gauge.
While I usually wouldn't buy this stuff online I feel like I can get it for less money than in store. Does someone know of a website that has all three (head, wire, cotton) so I can order it just once and not from three different places?

Not sure really. What I can tell you, is AWG is indeed the gauge. AWG=American Wire Gauge. Which wire you want is depending on how much current you'll be pushing through it, vs how much you want to risk the wire breaking. 22 is much thicker(2x ish thicker) than the 27 gauge, so if you are putting a decent amount of current through the 27, you run a higher chance of it popping than you would with the 22. However the tradeoff is if you run the 22 gauge wire, you -have- to put more current through it, and thus that means a bigger battery as the thicker wire has higher resistance than the 27 gauge, if my brain is serving me correctly anyway!
