Hey everyone!
Names Temporizer.
I have been smoking 1-1.5 packs a day. So, instead of killing myself slowly, and wasting tons of money, I decided to start vaping. So I picked myself up an eGo set and some vanilla flavor eJuice (16mg nic 100%vg) about 3 months ago for about $60 at a local head shop. I didn't like the eJuice I got (not much throat hit, like a cigarette has, vapor was good tho), so I stopped using it, and it started collecting dust.

My father-in-law has been vaping for about 6 months now and has completely quit smoking cigarettes (from almost 2 packs a day), and now he is a full time vaper. As a birthday present, he got me a couple Kanger MT3's to go with my eGo battery (650mAh). I went to the same head shop and picked up some menthol flavor eJuice (24mg nic 100%vg). I've been vaping for about a week now, mixing it with cigarettes (to ween myself off). The last 2 days I haven't smoked a single cigarette.

So, now i'm here to get information; Pro's and Con's about different products/juices.

Let the games begin.

Congratulations to you and your father in law! I'd say you've got a good starting kit there, but it may be an idea to branch out on the ejuice to add some dimension. There'll be plenty of suggestions here. So the one thing I would suggest is if the juice still lacks throat hit, then try a 80/20 VG/PG. and buy sample packs to begin - that's the biggest drain on folk's wallet as the sites are well designed and it's easy to slap 5-6 30 ml bottles of great sounding juices in the cart and then finding out you don't like them. Glad to see you here and you'll hear from many more of us.

Hi Hulamoon.
Thanks for the words. My father-in-law suggested a site called DIY Flavor Shack by E-Cig Smoke Store based out of Las Vegas, he swears by it. So I ordered a menthol flavor that is 70/30 mix from them. I am hoping to get that Monday or Tuesday. I am also going to order a eGo-V battery. I'm pretty excited.

Also, I didn't mention, but I am getting my spouse to quit smoking as well. She smokes about 1/2 - 3/4 pack a day.

The kit I purchased came with 2 full sets. So I am able to put the MT3's on both eGo batteries, and she can have one as well. We'll see how it goes.

Hi Temporizer,

Congrats on making the decision!

Hula's got it right - get several sampler size bottles of different juices. You may find that, like a lot of us, you like to switch up flavors during the day, you spouse may like different flavors, etc.

If both of you keep at it, I'd also suggest getting at least 1 more battery, so you can both vape while it's charging. And I'd suggest something like a Vision Spinner to go variable voltage. Gives a lot more ability to fine tune the experience.

If you're in the south Sound area, there are a lot of vape shops that have "vape bars" where you can go in an sample different flavors, a great way to test them out. While B&M prices can be excessively high, some shops aren't too far out of line, and this can be a really helpful way to narrow the flavor field, and try blends that you might not even think about otherwise!

Congrats and welcome to the site. Check out local vape stores. I have one I go to where I got 10 ml bottles for 3.49 each. I still pick up a extra bottle to sample a new juice now and then. I DIY a little too. Not only 2nd batteries but extra's of everything. Including a extra charger. If your charger goes out you're dead in the water.

Hi and welcome! I just posted last night about how I had bought a carton the day before my ProVari mini arrived. I took my time to get to know the PV, and weaned myself off the smokes with no pressure. That carton lasted me two weeks, and when it ran out on Friday night, I was feeling good enough to go to vaping full time.

There really is no need to pressure yourself, or let anyone else pressure you into giving up analogs 100% right out of the starting gate. If you do it at a pace that best suits you, the chances of success are much higher :)

For Juices, Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids and fuZion vapor - premium handcrafted ejuice for the rockstars both have stellar juices. Fuzion also has a different charity juice each month.

Congrats Temp,

Nice to see more than one family member vaping. Wish I could get a couple of dippers in my family to take the plunge. Juice is very subjective. You really need to buy some sample packs and test them out yourself. Mountain Vapors has a good rep for tobacco juices. I also order from Pink Spot, Mountain Baker and Sweet-Vapes. Again Congrats and keep on keepin on .... ;-)~
