Hi all,
Noobie to the forum and vaping. My name is Rick, (aka SpEcTReCHieF here or SpEcTRe-VaPes at VF). I am a 24+ yr smoker that wants to kick the habit. Had my cheapy E-cig for a little over a week. Got what I paid for so will be looking for good PV next week or so. Allready made my own 4 "AA" mod for mine and now vapor production and battery life are good. Still holding on to my analogs till I get some flavors and a good PV then going to try putting them down for good. Not quite sure what I want in a PV, I do want the ability to go 3.7/6 V, was thinking about a SB but not sure about the size and how I would feel in public with it. Going to shop around I guess, any suggestions? :smokie:

Later all,

Rick

Welcome Rick.
What kind of cheapy e-cig do you have? And where did you get it from?
If you don't mind my asking.
Saber Touch from Vapormoon.com are very nice sturdy variable volt mods. They have a 5 yr warranty as well, you won't find that any where.
Or
A Bottom feeder like the Reo at reosmods.com Those are what i would recommend for a Mod . If you are still worried about looking strange in public , how about an EGO. Those last quite a long time and don't look odd.

Welcome Rick,

I too am new to the ECF family, but, with their help and the consensus being...The Ego is a great way to go for your E-cig...The price is great, the battery life is great, vapor production....etc..... You can't go wrong.....These people know their stuff! :)

That is why I have purchased one for myself and stalking my mailman waiting for it to come!

Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Hey Rick.

Good Luck on kicking the analogs. I'm going to have to throw out the eGo too. I converted a friend at work with my Joye 510. It used to make me so jealous the Batt life, and vapor he would get. So to show him up I have a ScrewDriver in the mail coming from totally wicked. As for the juices... Couldn't tell ya! I haven't kicked analogs for more than a few days, maybe a week on and off, so I can't even taste my liquids yet. I can taste how bad analogs are after a few days vaping though....

Hi Rick,
So I really love the eGo for its size and oomph. I did find that I like the Mini REO better for power and the whole direct feed juice thing as opposed to using a cartomizer on the eGo. My husband busted out the voltage meter and the eGo's 3.7 battery was pushing 3.1 under load. The Mini REO initially pushed 4.1, but that was on a freshly charged battery. Now I would like to point out that spending the money on a Low Resistance Atomizer really improved the vapor for me. Right now, the mods like the Mini REO are doing it for me mostly because I find it to be largely hassle free. I can vape without fuss for 1-3 days on one bottle of juice and one battery depending on how much I vape. That is a no-brainer for me because I'll be the first to admit, I am lazy. Don't know if that helps at all, but that's just my :2c: Happy Vaping!

Hey Rick, welcome to ECF! My current rig is a Tornado/eGo battery with 510 cartomizer. My liquid is from VaporBomb, 60vg/40pg mix and I get excellent vapor with a subtle throat hit. The battery is a bit larger/heavier than an analog, but I've become quite used to it. I haven't dabbled in the higher voltages, so I'm not sure what advantages there are with the 5 or 6 volts. If it is warmer vapor, then that is well and good. The eGo may not provide that, but you can still get good vapor with a fairly small battery.

Hi all,
This is a much more active forum, that's great. Wasn't expecting anyone to reply, thanks so much for the welcome and the suggestions. I will do some more research on the eGo. Will check it out.

Nyxie- I bought a e-health cigarette from E-HealthCigarettes.com. The price was right and had very fast shipping but the battery life and vapor production aren't very good. Not sure what kind the atomizer's are with it, and the cartridges don't seem to good either. I found out the hard way, you get what you pay for.

Rhapsodies Fire-I am kinda like you, lazy sometimes when it comes to things and I like the idea of a juice feeder also. That seems very convienent. I have looked at the Reo, just not sure if the boss (wife) who doesn't smoke or anything will let me part with the funds? Aren't those like $130 or so? Never know...

I was just thinking if I was going to spend the kind of money that I will probably be spending that I may get something that had the ability to do dual voltage, 3.7/6 v. That way if I ever want to switch it up or go back and forth I could. I have heard that some juices taste better etc. at diff voltages so will see.

Anyway, thanks for everything all. Will do some shopping around and will let you know what I end up doing.

Take care,
Rick

Tell the boss that it is for your health and the amount you aren't spending on cigs should be able to be spent on ecigs ;-) That is what I told my hubby LOL. As long as I no longer spend more then I would have on cigs in a month I am safe.
Rob the maker of the Reo is coming out with a Grande soon it will hold one 18650 battery for 3.7 V OR it will hold 2 16340's ( I think, not positive of the battery model) for higher volt vaping. Still the same 130$ as far as I know . It is the best 130.00 you will spend that is for sure.
Other posters said eGo and I agree eGo's are awesome for new vapers, but what I noticed in your original post is that you have already built a box mod that is why the eGo was last in my recommendations.

Wow, I just checked out the new GGTS from VaporKings. Man that thing will do everything but clean your house!! Now how do I convince the wife that spending that kind of money on it would be a good investment...might have to work on that one. That thing is pretty cool with the AVS system, that is sweet, and the ability to accept pretty much any atty or carto or batt. That is awsome! Alot of green to drop in one shot tho...may have to work for that one.

:toast:

My first e-cig I wanted to look close to a real one. Then I got black ones so they didn't really look like a real one. I have an eGo coming in because now I don't care what it looks like, (The eGo is pretty slick though) I want a longer lasting battery!

Joye 51 from cignot, and Ms T's Bakery Essential juice. Hands down the best I've had :)

(510 is the only thing I've had, and I stopped trying other juice when I found Ms T's stuff. )

Sounds like you have made some good choices.
eGo is what stopped me from smoking finally, and Ms. T's juice is awesome. I love her snickerdoodle and bananas foster coffee.

Rick, until you've been vaping for a while, and have explored all of the possibilities here on ECF, I would recommend a good Joye eGO kit, before you begin to consider a mod. There are a lot of possibilities, and you don't want to be spending a lot of money trying them all out. I did what I'm advising you not to do, and I have a drawer full of rather expensive mods that I will never use again.
