Dude, I haven't even THOUGHT about Ohm's law since my MECP classes back in the early 2000's. Thanks for the blast from the past.
... oh... and the sound reasoning too. Thanks for that.![]()
I know it's an "old" law but the law is the law man!

FDA was shot down folks. We're safe for now.
Riva kits are basically the same as the eGo's. Slightly bigger battery and you can get them in 901 or 510. eGo's are only 510's. Also, do not use low resistant atomizers on standard batteries. It will kill your battery. Some people also have problems using LR's on the eGo/Riva batteries. LR's are meant for 3.7v batteries (neither kit puts out over 3.4v even though they say 3.7v). Majority of people use the LR's on mods with take out rechargeable batteries. At a true 3.7v, LR's mimic 5v vaping.
What a great tip! I've recently started refilling cartos (cartridge/atomizer) and just filled one up using this method while reading the post. I've noticed a lot more flavor, etc.
I'm sure this will help the filling material from getting burned up if it is saturated with e-liquid. I didn't realize it until later, but I was burning up some of the filling material in the carto. Most likely due to vaping too much without setting the PV down for more than 1.234 seconds.
Other tips that were helpful to me when starting (that I read from other posts):
- Take smooth, slow draws on the PV (Personal Vaporizer)
- If the cartomizer seems clogged, take it off the battery and blow through the end (opposite of where you put your mouth).
Blow it into a paper towel or something and then wipe the excess e-liquid off the tip (to prevent that getting on your mouth).
Thanks again,

This is a great thread. I'm bumping too.
One thing I think needs to be covered for Newbies, is what kind, and how many different types of chargers they may need. I can only comment on the 510, since that's what I have right now.
The charger that comes with the kit certainly won't be sufficient for someone out and about all day long with a 510 (even with two fully charged batteries), unless they only puff very occasionally. The batteries will die in an hour or hour and a half.
Here's what I found I need, at the barest minimum, to keep going all day with a 510 (using the two batteries that come with a double kit)
Regular house/plug charger (which comes with the starter kit) to get them both fully charged per the instructions prior to using
pcc charger (separate purchase), which charges one battery while you're using the other
USB converter for the car (since my car doesn't have a USB port)... to be able to keep the pcc charged if I'm on the road (also separate purchase)
I'd also strongly suggest purchasing a couple of extra batteries, just to have on hand. The XL's do hold a charge much longer, but they cannot be charged in the pcc.
I prefer the 510's because I smoked Capri's for 20 years, and they're much slimmer than even Virginia Slims. However, I suspect I'll be using something like an eGo while in the house, and probably with a passthrough.
Topping off the carts is a PITA, but if you get some (a bunch of) extra empty carts, they can be prefilled at home and taken out with you, since they're very inexpensive. (Of course taking some juice along is a good idea too...just in case)
I found myself buying something every day just to get properly "set up". I think I'm set now, except for juice, which I'm working on.
