Noobie question regarding ohms, vv/vw

Hi, i dont have a vv battery, just standard evod 900's. I found a cheap source of wicks, but they only had 1.6 ohms; will these still work ok? Also, im a heavy vaper and im finding my wicks are lasting quite a bit longer than seven days (some have been going for almost a month with cleaning-is this normal?

evod 900 is 3.7 volts, actually it will be 4.2 volts and droppping as you vape. With an atomizer at 1.6 ohms it's ok, you're a bit in the red but it's still fine. I'm always vaping in the red (barely).

Yes, like Zurd said above, your eVod is one of those unregulated (4.2-3.3v) batteries, so, im my opinion, 1.6Ω coil is a bit low. It's doable, if you like it hot, but be careful with a freshly charged battery. In the future, you may want to try 1.8-2.2Ω range.

If you're vaping very clear and clean eliquids and vaping at high wattages, your coils will last longer, but a month may be a stretch. There is plenty of gunk on your coils, I'm certain, you just may not be feeling/tasting it yet. I recommend a good soak in PGA or strong cheap vodka.

vape it till it tastes like crap and then rebuild it. A lot will depend on your juices - amount of sweetners, mix ratio, the efficacy of your coil to keep up with your wick. The longer you can go w/ decent performance means that things are really good.

Personal preference and vape quality. I find my protanks work best with 1.6-1.8 ohms at 3.4-3.8 volts. Anything above 2.0ohms, and the flavor starts fade out. Also, lower ohms means less power from the battery, so it lasts longer.

At the same wattage, lower ohms draw more amps than higher ohm coils. They therefore drain the battery faster.

So why do vapors like having a variety of ohms to choose from when they have a vv and or vw mod? Doesn't raising/lowering the voltage or wattage make having a variety of ohms unnecessary? I'm so confused.

If you have a mechanical mod you want to know the ohms of the coil your putting on it for battery safety. If you have VV mod you need to know the ohms so you can set voltage to your preference, if it's too low it won't fire but if your voltage is too high for your coil, you will get a awful burnt taste. If you have VW it pretty much sets voltage output to the ohms of coil and it adjusts voltage automatically. I hope this helps.
