I got my VaporZone Pro ecig in the mail today.
I picked it because of great reviews.
I hadn't found this site yet.
I put it together.
I finally figured out how to use it.
I took a mighty drag and just about died.
Then I found the "how to use an Ecig" article here.
Thank you. Thank you.
Then I started reading.
To be honest with you, I don't understand half of what you're saying...
but I guess I'll learn.
I smoke menthol cigs, so I bought a menthol juice.
Then I read about all the zillion flavors you all use.
Why would I use other flavors? They cost money and I may not
like them. Why would I want to suck in pumpkin pie?
I want a substitute for cigs, so I want this to be like the real thing.....yes?
What am I missing?
(now I have to find 4 other things to post about....)

Welcome to the forum redtees, glad you found us.

For flavors, I think most people do try to get tobacco juices to start with. I know I did. But slowly I found (and read) that there are very few juices out there that can replicate that burning cigarette taste. Then as I continued to vape and not smoke, my tastebuds changed and I found that I didn't really like the tobacco juices and then craved fruits, candy and bakery juices - I mean there are very few people that can actually say a cigarette tastes good.

So, vape those tobacco juices if you prefer, nobody is going to tell you not to. But as your taste changes, maybe try something different.

For me, it's a nicotine thing and a hand-to-mouth thing. Vaping gives me both, and I don't have to taste tobacco to not smoke. I can do it vaping a delicious strawberry cheesecake vape that still satisfies me.

I'm a year in, I only have one tobacco juice that I like to vape now, the others are all fruits, candies and bakeries.

As for the posting, you don't have to create 5 threads, answering in this thread or in other threads counts toward your 5.

Welcome again, you've found a great resource with some pretty dang awesome people around too.

Why would you use other flavors? You might like them. A lot of people want the "real" cigarette taste at first but over time find they prefer different flavors. Some people stick with tobacco flavors. Others alternate both. You won't know till you try other flavors.

There should be vape shops in San Fran and most brick and mortar shops let you taste flavors before buying. Of course the big government friendly area you live in might ban that before the new FDA regulations do (as it appears to some the intent is).

If you want to substitute for cigs I hope you got more than one battery. It sucks to want a vape while the battery is charging.

Hulloo and welcome redtrees!

Just now you want a substitute for cigarettes. The longer you vape and the more you read here on ECF well, you will prolly wind up like the majority of folks here and want MORE!

More flavors, more devices, more everything vape actually (-:

Congrats on getting started and whatever path you take here, enjoy!

I also started with my brand of cigarettes flavor It tasted nothing like what I smoked and I almost hell with it all. I then remembered the shop I got all the stuff from had samples I could taste rite there before I buy one. I tried my favorite flavor Peach, I fell in love. The non tobacco flavors will help you use the device more provided you chose one you liked. Id personally rather taste something I like while I get my dose of Nicotine then something that taste like what I was trying to quit. I personally found myself more then happy to vape for the taste of it then the need for the Nicotine.

For me smoking was as much of a psychological habit as it was an addiction to 'substances'.
Vaping helped replace cigarettes, cigars, and pipes with something that is far less damaging to property and health.

Heavy smokers find their taste buds coming back after an extended period of not smoking. If one doesn't stop vaping as well, an interest in other flavors is pretty typical for long term vapers. Food, wine, and olfactory preferences are highly likely to go through some pretty major changes...

Personally no matter how much reading I have done there has been and is a personal learning curve of trial and error and discovering new shinies along the way. I have been stoked about many things along the way and then found out they dont really do it for me anymore..

What started as smoking cessation turned into vaping hobby and just enjoying it more than i ever did smoking. It is so much more for me than not smoking or getting a nicotine fix.. And I found out I am loving every bit of it.

I agree with all who recommended you go to a local store that allows tasting if possible. If not, try samplers of different flavors first. There isn't much worse than spending a lot of money on some highly rated liquid that everybody raves about only to find you don't like it at all! Or...you may decide to stick with what you like now, who knows? No matter what you do, as long as it works for you it's all good.

Welcome to ECF!

Don't feel bad. I've been vaping for over a year and I still learn something new everyday. There are lots of people here that will help you with anything you have questions about and just googling a question will take you to some pretty darn good ecf threads where you will find a bunch of answers. Good luck to you and welcome to the forum. Hope to read more of your posts because quite frankly.....I may learn something. Happy vaping to ya. :)
