So I got a massive shipment from FSUSA. And I was filling some empty 10 ml bottles from a 60ml bottle. Their 60 mL bottles do not have nozzles. It's just a standard bottle with a screw cap.

So I was filling a empty with their Virginia tobacco liquid. I'm using a 5 mL syringe with 22.5 gauge needle (sharp, medical standard). I finish filling the 10 mL and as I'm setting the syringe aside to avoid stabbing myself, I tip over the 60 mL bottle which I had carelessly left open. Liquid spilled every where: on my jeans (my favorite pair by the way), on my floor and a lot on my desk. Luckily I'm not that sensitive to nicotine, otherwise I'd be in trouble: Spilling ~10 mL of 36 mg liquid onto your leg would not be a happy time for those of you who are more sensitive.

Needless to say I yelled many expletives.

I was able to pick it up in time to avoid loosing all of it. After picking it up I probably had 25 mL of what was 50 ml (60 minus the 10 mL I just filled up).

Since a lot of liquid was on my desk, I used their business card to painstakingly move the liquid on the desk around and then push it into the bottle. I think I was able to salvage 10-15mL.

There goes 10-15 mL of liquid because of my carelessness. Luckily I got 280 mL from them in this order.

But still, my liquid... and my jeans. :(

Ouch -- that sucks! I've never gone through that much of a loss, thankfully. But did have one instance where I ordered a 15 mL bottle and the person I ordered from didn't put the inner nozzle cap on tight (it wasn't snapped in, just resting on top). I shook the bottle, removed the outer cap, inverted it to drip, and the nozzle dropped....and I lost about a third of the bottle. Such a waste (and it turns out that I really really liked that flavor, too!). Sorry to hear about your accident!

My friend spilled his juice too. The bottle was in his pocket and when he went to pull it out, the top came off and broke ( still cant figure out how he managed this). He spilled most of his liquid. 800 miles away and the only bottle he had. What he could salvage he did by dumping his eye drops bottle, washing it really well and putting his juice in it. Juice is more important than eye drops!!

Lesson learned for him: Make sure you have more than 1 bottle of juice with you at all times!

I carry 5 or 6 with me daily. I don't know why. Call me crazy.

Desperate times call for desperate measures... did you squeeze the juice off your jeans to salvage it? :)

I'm not embarrassed enough to say that not only did I consider that, but also considered trying to salvage liquid that fell on the ground. I didn't know how to do the latter so I gave up on that, and the liquid on the desk was dripping off the side, so I had to focus on that first. By the time I was finished salvaging the liquid from the desk, the liquid had already seeped through my pants, and so it was very unlikely that I could get anything out of that.

Also, I couldn't get this particular nozzle top off the 10 mL bottle, and even if I did, I still would have used the syringe (sans needle) and probably would have spilled it anyway.

The desk I was using was a pull out extender from my computer desk, and I've probably used it all of twice in the last year. So it wasn't too dirty. I'm also not too concerned about what particles are in my liquid. As long as it tastes good.

I'd say that all the liquid that fell on me (~10 mL), was in contact with my skin for at least 5 minutes, probably 10, while I was trying to slide all the desk liquid into the bottle. I took off my favorite jeans after that, and washed my hands, but I was already late for something, so I still haven't washed my leg. So like I said, I'm lucky I'm not sensitive to nicotine like some of you other people.

I'm not concerned about my jeans being ruined. They should be fine after 1 or 2 washes. I'm just mad that I was wearing them and I had to change into a lesser pair.

This happened to me two days ago on a MUCH smaller scale.

I was trying to mix two flavors together... probably only 10ml. Didn't push the cap in hard enough and when I went to drip I DRENCHED myself, filled my atty, and covered my desk with e-liquid.

Sucked.

I learned a lesson the hard way after a spill that ruined the finish on a kitchen table. ALLWAYS do mixing over something and NEVER directly over a table/desk.

I now mix over a Small Stainless Steel cookie sheet that has a lip all the way around it. It’s about 18”–x-12” and it cost like 9 bucks at Target. It has saved me a few times when gravity has been uncooperative.
