Yet another town in Northern California has just sneakily passed an ordinance of no smoking within 30' of anywhere in town.
Last month it was the University town of Arcata. This month it is the shipping town of Eureka.
QUIETLY they rob the public of their rights. (for the sake of the children rolleyes).
I just ran across this article tonight in the Northcoast Journal
Go to your newspapers and search "smoking". YOU might be in the same predicament and not even realize it.
Be sure to check the notices sections for the past months. ?
There might be more towns up this way sneaking this through too. I don't know all the paper's names. How frustrating!
Interesting read.
(a few excerpts from the article in the Northcoast Journal
"Last month, the Eureka City Council quietly passed a wide-ranging new anti-smoking ordinance, prohibiting smoking more or less everywhere apart from your own home" .... etc... and the people are LIVID...
"the people who care aren't in the habit of reading council agendas. Unlike zoning changes or conditional use permits, there's no formal notification procedure for this type of action." ....
