NORD Update & Why it's now my Backup

I'm talking the old ego style pen units. Look at any web site. Most are gone and what's left are few. Was talking to a local vape shop owner last week looking for a spare for the missus. He told me he still has a demand for them but cannot find them anywhere. They are no longer being made. They will dry up soon.

Ego threading, not so much. A 510 cigalike with a 280maH variable voltage 510 battery? Very much. Those 1.8ohm clearos were better than most juul-a-like pods too.

As for eGo, your store guy isn't looking hard enough.

There are several reasons for this. First is the other chemicals in cigarette smoke that you are no longer getting. Not just the tar and Ash, but the alkaloids other than nicotine. A fairly significant population here use whole tobacco alkaloids or WTAs from naturally extracted tobacco, or NET. Second, as you've noticed, is the ritual. Holding something in your hand, a-la holding that cig while not smoking, followed by the urge to burn something, the ritual. The urges pass, I promise. Even for someone like me who was smoking since he was 10.

For all those who posted they're disappointed with the Smok Nord is your opinion still the same?? Thanks!!

Also, has anyone tried Smok Nord vaping with Ceramic Coils ~ how is it, vape, does it get hot, temperature, and especially longevity? Thanks!!

Almost 7 years ago, I started on a 510 cig-a-like. Loved it! So much so I bought another the next day (already started backups...). Then discovered the ego styled pens... Loved them too! Kept getting bigger and better.. Vamo, tanks, Loved them all, even when I had to use tea bags and blue foam to get the danged things to work close to how I wanted them to!

About 4 years ago, I started down the road of DTL. Still bought a cig-a-like now and then for emergency's and to give away as needed.
Moved way far from the MTL devices and this last year I was looking down at these "pods" as an inferior vape.

Even tried a few. Nope! Can't DTL these things, I don't need them!

Then work got harsh with the Smoking\Vaping rules....
Needed something smaller... so I could vape at my out of the way desk.
Read up on a bunch, My list came to; must be refillable (I DIY eliquid), must have replaceable coils, must be able to DTL the danged thing!

Boom.. Nord Ugh... it's a SMOK...

Ok, give it a try anyway... So I got one the end of June. If I didn't like it, I could always try it on the wife! Choked on the 1.4 coil but the mesh was perfect! Ordered another for the wife, She loved it.

Last Friday, She makes me look at hers, it stopped working. I couldn't fix it (I make mods as well), so I sighed heavily and handed her mine. She's happy.. I'm grumpy as, well, I get grumpy...
Saturday, I said screw it, ordered another one. I already had coils and pods coming in from China.. had extra pods already! Needed to be able to use them, right?

Today when I get home, YAY!! my replacement is here. Charged it up and right now am vaping happily on it!

Don't get me wrong, I love my DNA75's, DNA200, Pico 25's and 21700's along with my Juggerknot mini, OBS Engine Nano's, Greekvape Zeus's and KEAS Solomom II's (even my Wasp Nano RTA).
But this thing hits the spot for me, I can carry it to work without looking like I have a bag of vapes (even though I still carry 3 Pico's in too) and I can hit it and hold it to stealth vape, or hit hard and blow clouds during lunch.

It is my main vape during work and a great backup ever where else.

Maybe I shouldn't mention it, but have you seen the RPM40? That takes Nord coils, has a new 0.4ohm coil too...

My Trinity Alpha is slowly dying though. Got it three months ago, and the battery doesn't hold nearly the charge it once did.
