hope your feeling better. one thing that may help is gargling with salt water, i think people mostly do that for sore throats but i think it helped clear me up a time of two

definatly stay away from the affrin and 4way type stuffs I had a couple bad years with them 10 yrs ago and i still don't think i have recovered from it BAD STUFF!!! of corse that wasn't the only bad stuff i did back then so maybe it wasn't the afrin

To avoid rebound from prolonged use of the Afrin, after a couple days of it try plain saline nasal spray. This way you avoid the rare instance of neti pot infection but get the benefit of loosening things up without drying yourself out and it helps get the stuff out of there.

Thank you Lisa66. The bug that prompted me to start this thread is long gone, but I think I'm having some pretty annoying allergies right now. For the past two days I've been waking up stuffed. It really makes me feel helpless. I hope its not because of where I live. My father built my house atop my grandfather's junkyard/car lot. I hope we are not breathing in bad things due to this. My basement is a dust haven, but I don't think we have asbestos. The house was built around 20 years ago. We do have a furnace filter, but I still think we are getting nasties from running the air or heat. Also, we live by a closed down rock quarry. SO, we are basically living on a junkyard surrounded by exposed mountain sides, with a propane refinery AND a large plastics manufacturing warehouse down the road... lol. Also, in the last two years I was really into graffiti, so I have a stock pile of turpentine and thinned down oil paints in water bottles next to my bed, & a very smelly boa constrictor living in my room. Not to forget the still lingering smoke on all of my walls and fabric from smoking 30 cigs a day, all in my little room... The shedding rottweiler that sleeps next door in my old room, all of the dust in my room, and I also take a prescribed intranasal medication each day. SO, I'm really not sure which one, or which combination, or if ALL of these things is what is stuffing me up. But I have had allergies for a few years now. In my youth, I never really had stuffy noses unless I had a serious cold.
