Nope. tried both before resorting to other means.:D
Soaked in hot water with Dawn for half hour.
Peeled label off without problem, glue stayed.
You don't need the dawn in the bottle, just on the glue. Alcohol will let you rub off the glue.

Letitia, the Dawn WAS on the glue. The alcohol was on the glue. Neither would remove the glue. The label was already off of the bottle.:D I was trying to find something to remove the glue residue. As any chemist will tell you, it's all about the solvent! If it isn't soluble in your solvent, you use another! Petro based or napthalene or whatever (goof off/goo gone or kerosene/lighter fluid). I tried both isopropanol(rubbing) and ethanol (hooch). At the time I didn't think of cooking oil, but I had the lighter fluid. And clean bottles!:D

LMAO I use straight dawn and it usually works. Glad you found something that worked.
yeah, usually dawn and a little scrub gets off most stuff. This glue just smeared. I don't have patience for that crap. Out comes the big guns!:D I have another just about empty, I am gonna try the oil trick on.

Ahhh, I don't really remember buying larger glass bottles when I used store-bought. Blue Halo bottles, I just never got around to.

But, I do like having the extra room in the bottles for shaking. I haven't ever really mentioned it, but, we go on rides to belly-dancer/bottle shaking contests in the wooded mountains.

Now, isn't that a good visual...

I just write on a piece of paper, cover it in transparent sticky tape, and stick it on the bottle. It always peels right off when i want to change it.

Knowing what sticky labels are like, i really don't have the patience for them.
I agree, but if I want to be able to read it, or someone else to (like poison label for nic) my handwriting will not suffice.:D
