Not sure when your started, but... When I first started, I got excited about all these flavors, but my tastebuds were really shot. Everything was just "doughy". It was frustrating. I did get some taste with strong, blunt flavors like candy cane and high menthol flavors. They said it would take what it takes. My sense of smell came first. It was a couple of weeks to a month to have something respectable. I remember walking the dog on a moonless night and I could smell a lit cigarette. About a full 30 seconds later, a lady came out of the darkness. Jeez, people must have smelled me coming.

Taste was longer and it would come at moments and then the ability would drift away. It took me longer.to get that back. I guess it just took time.

With all that, I just focused on getting my nic.

iClear coil is probably burnt. They are really not a good match for the istick. Lots of people fet started on them but they are pretty terrible. Get a nautilus w/bvc coils or protank and you will have better luck.

You can do some reading on lower wattage settings on the iStick i don't know the specifics as i don't own one but they have some issues hitting the lower wattage ranges on a full charge.

Do you have another battery you can try it on first? This can eliminate the coils as the source of the problem. Put in a new coil, fill with juice let sit for 5 minutes, without hitting the power take a couple drags off of it to draw the juice into the wicks, then let it sit for a couple more minutes. Then put on a different battery if you have one and try to vape.

If the coil is tasting burnt with harsh throat hit it is too late you will have to replace the coil. When I first started vaping I thought I was sensitive to PG, turns out it was just a burnt coil.

Sadly I don't have anything else to try it on. The only other battery I have is an ego 650 and no connector to the 510. I guess I'll just have to change coils.

What I am saying is you might change coils and immediately burn the next one because the istick runs hot. And has issues down regulating? Like I said for specifics you will have to read up. But I would be leary about burning another coil on that mod. If it is heavy VG like more than 60% make sure you give it a full 10 minutes to soak in or more.

Shouldn't get a harsh hit unless your coil is not primed or is burnt. Sense of smell and taste buds are directly related. If you stopped smoking cigarettes recently, you may have to wait a little to get strong flavors. If it's a flavor you've been doing for a long time, your taste buds could also just be "immune to it" which mine have done on a few of my favorite flavors

The IClears suck. Get a Protank or better yet, get a Nautilus like sketchness already posted. I have all 3 and the Nautilus is by far the best.
I have juice that tastes better on my Nautilus tanks and juice that tastes better on my iClear. For instance, bold tobacco flavors taste really good through top coil silica. I vape everything else on my Nautilus tanks and Kayfun. So if the OP happens to enjoy tobacco, the iClear 30 is the way to go.

Hey mate,

This is going to be kind of a drag, but I think two things are going on:

1. iClear30s are fine in a lot of use cases, but they don't handle high-VG eliquids very well at all due to being top fed and such. This isn't a knock, as a protank or such won't handle the eliquid you're using well either, as I believe it's around 75% Palm VG. I generally don't recommend going over 50/50 with them, and something like 70/30 will work way better (for reference, you're trying to use 25/75).

2. The istick simply can't put out a low voltage, and it lies when it says it is. It's 3.3V is actually 4V. You have to reach an equilibrium between how fast the coils can wick in new VG and how fast it'll get vaporized, or you'll get that harsh dry awful flavor.

I think your best bet would be to thin the high-VG eliquid with some unflavored PG. You can try to thin it out with some distilled water and/or vodka while taking lots of primer puffs and swirling it upside down to keep things coated, but you have a looooot to thin out.
