Not doing very well...........

It will be very nearly 3 weeks that I thought I would say I haven't had one cigarette after 40 odd years but some strange things have happened which only Kathy(Souporvapor) knows about..so here is my story and wondering what to do about this.........

Kathy and many great posters here made my mind up for me with the 510 and delighted I was with it for the first week. No analogs and I couldn't quite believe it. Then I started to have gum problems and really bad metallic taste in my mouth and even the gums started to bleed.

Gums got better and brought about 10 different flavs(again thx to Souporvapor) which I found that I couldn't stand VG..too sweet and tasted awful. Having smoked Menthol Kool for years, mostly got on with menthol (low) liquid............Won't go into great details for obvious reasons, but never had problems with my digestive system, but recently been crapping like an elephant on steroids, that didn't worry me so much, what does though is that for the last 4 days and nights I am having severe stomach ache..........and it won't go away..............so, I was looking forward to posting the amount of analogs, I have not smoked, but slightly ashamed to say that I have gone back that route for the time being(albeit, smoking about 5 a day instead of 30 plus) and need to find out if I have a problem or it's associated with vaping and perhaps not vaping the correct stuff...............I don't know what to think, but although I started off well, even without the stomach pains, I have been starving hungry(due to obviously weening myself off years of crap) and may have stuffed myself stupid and caught something..but I really don't think so, as I always have eaten well......
So anybody had symptoms like mine, would appreciate hearing about them as only having vaped for about 1 hour today, stomach feels slightly better??? Damn it. I wan't to give up the smokes, but don't won't to feel as I have been......:nah:

After about a month of vaping or I should say , not smoking, my gums would bleed. I got worried about this and read something on ECF about quiting smoking and bleeding gums. Then did a search on it and found that quiting smoking, ecspecially after smoking for many years(21 for me), is a cause of bleeding gums do to better blood flow. After a week or 2 the bleeding didn't happen again. This was not caused by vaping but rather quiting smoking. I would see a doctor to get checked out to be on the safe side. GL

It almost sounds like something viral. This is the first I've heard it related to e-cigs though. Have you been cleaning your carts and atty's, there's more to that than just keeping them operational as many flavored liquids have sugars in them, a breeding ground for germs if not maintained.

EDIT: didn't mention the bleeding gums because it's expected but someone else covered it as well. This post was in relation to the stomach ache and bowel issues.

Wow, cleaning out attys and carts due to germs? How often would you suggest and cleaning out with what? Water?

WhyQuit - Nicotine Withdrawal and Recovery Symptoms

Hi Peter,
Found the above link on withdrawal symptoms. While it's labelled 'nicotine' keep in mind no one has ever separated out all the other toxins in .... logs to discover the specifics of withdrawing from everything other than the nic.

They put a whole bunch of really nasty stuff in those cigs. We are as addicted to the other ingredients as much as the nic. There are even ingredients that counter/mask the negative effects so we get/stay/ become more addicted.

Thanks for posting and hey - there's a list of all the crap in tobacco on that page link below... click on the link here- then look for the link on the page. I created a pdf - it's 3 pages, small type and single spaced.

Hoping you're feeling better fast!
Kathy

I wipe down my e-cig mouthpiece with alcohol wipes a couple of times a day because I tend to use the same mouthpiece for awhile even though I change the cart material more often. I'm thinking that your digestive issues might be something else separate from vaping, a touch of some kind of stomach bug? It doesn't sound like any kind of allergic reaction...any chance you may have swallowed an amount of juice? You said you've been eating alot, tried anything new that may not have agreed with you?

Rinse your carts and filler at least every couple of days - hot water
rinse and blow attys. And since you know the VG doesn't work for you. Rinsing any of the VG juice that may still be in the atty would be important.
And if you've got a bug you'd be keeping it alive in the cart with moisture and heat - then putting back in your mouth...
Maybe?
Remember
I'm not a DR - just trying to think this through.

All the best
And remember - do what you feel is best. If it's ciggies - so be it.
If you try again in the future. Make sure you've rinsed everything well
and it really doesn't hurt to boil attys for a minute and carts too.

hmmmmmmmmm nicotine is a "vasoconstrictor" it shrinks yer viens, also causes heart attacks, but NO CANCER, simple truth.................depends on you and your habits and age............."just the facts maam".............oh yeah, it has a diplilitating affect on you mouth and gums due to the "anethetic quality of the drug" which shrinks and kills yer mouth........nicotine aint pretty, but, cancer, tar, all the other chems aint either! alot worse. dont be fooled, this is not a practise that is "healthy", just better than hell...............

I had a friend that was cutting with VG and had problems with bleeding gums. As long as she brushed her teeth every night before she went to bed, and didn't vape again after brushing, they wouldn't bleed.

As for the digestive problems, there have been several people that have went thru that making the transition to ecigs. I'm actually very surprised it didn't happen to me since EVERYTHING effects my stomach, lol If it was me, I would back off of one thing, say VG, and see if that changes anything. If it doesn't, add that back in and take out something else, the PG, and see what that does. You're just going to have to rule things out one at a time. I hope you feel better soon!

Thx everyone...........couldn't get on the forum last night for some reason? Will see how it goes today..not vaping, or smoking..feeling a bit better though(slightly)..the poster who mentioned that I could be swallowing a lot of vape may have something there, plus cleaning out my attys and carts(particularly the cart heads that I vape from)............will have to tick them off one by one......back in a few days to let you know.
