Hello all Vapers. What a lovely lot of people you all are.

I've not got my kit yet but it is on order. This wonderful forum has made me terribly excited about it all. I'm based in the UK. I've worked in Europe for seven years and my travel expenses, along with the cheaper price of cigarettes (less than 1 euro a pack in Montenegro) has seen me blissfully unaware of the extortionate costs of smoking in the UK. For a career challenge, I changed jobs a while ago and jumped off the European gravy train. There's still people in the office working abroad who've been picking them up for me, but I ran out for the first time the other week. I wa somewhat taken back when I purchased a pack in the UK for over £7. Which has led me here.

Thank you all for your advice. It all looks incredibly intriguing and I'm somehow looking forward to getting started. I've sort of taken the view that I'm not trying to give up smoking, I'm just taking up a similar hobby. And I'm truly blessed that when I told my mate about it all, he decided it all sounded a good idea and has decided to give it a go also. Just hoping I can make a go of it. It won't be through lack of research if I fail.

Grats and welcome!!

BTW in National Forums there is a UK Forum and a Europe one (and they both probably have lists of vendors). And in Buying & Selling there are UK Classifieds and Uk Vendor sections. Once you have 5 non-spammed posts or replies in New Members and an hour wait, You'll be able to post elsewhere and send PMs.

And I would like to recommend Liberty-Flights.co.uk for hardware - they also have a US shop and they're a good vendor, call things by their real model names, have good descriptions, and state their warranties.

Congrats! A lot of people start vaping without the intent of completely stopping the use of cigs, but end up quitting bc they realize they enjoy vaping a lot more. After you vape for alittle your tastebuds will come back and thats when youll realize how bad real cigs actually taste!
Goodluck with everything!

Well it's arrived, I've charged everything up and quite ceremoniously smoked what I hope is my final tobacco cigarette. First impression is that I perhaps didn't need to go for 18mg; I choked me bollocks off and it's quite a decent hit. I bought a black battery, a chrome one and a white one. The white one is just to get me started and get used to things. The wife gave me a bollocking for putting it down on the sofa, despite me having talked it all through with her beforehand. That's the drawback with analogues I suppose. One thing I've ever done is smoke in the house or car as wife and children have never smoked. But I've just got everything fitted up and sat in front of the telly, watching darts and vaping away. I think I'll need to stick to the habit of going outdoors, else I'll be vaping more than I smoked. Early days yet mind. Only been going an hour ;o)

Hello & belated welcome Estima from another UK member :D

Re you "choked your bollocks off", instead of direct inhaling as you did with a real cig, inhale the vapour into your mouth & hold it there for a couple of seconds :)

I've been vaping for over 3 years so so if there is anything I can help with, just shout - especially concerning the best UK suppliers - we are very lucky to have so many good ones :) though sadly, as everywhere else there are a few not so good.

Thanks Chrissie. I used JAC Vapour, and fair play, they were spot on. Just got to get the hand of all this kit now, though Andy at JAC Vapour has been a big help. Back to work tomorrow so that's going to take a little getting used to, what with carrying the PCC round and making sure I'm fully kitted up to get through the day, but I'm sure it'll be fine. I've informed our facilties management team I'll be vaping in the office because they've got no law or policy to prohibit me.

Have heard some good reviews about JAC vapur :) If at any time you get fed up of carrying the PCC around, look into either buying a generic e-cig like the 1100 mAh battery Riva, or maybe even a big battery holder mod :) They will easily last you through the day without bothering to recharge :)

Hope the management are OK about you vaping in your office, there is no reason why they shouldn't be :)

I'll look in to those mods thanks. See how I get on first though.

I'm not sure there will permission to vape without fuss. We often get fire alarms going off that get set off by aersol sprays and perfumes so there is concern the vapour might activate them. Plus we've got 3,000 staff on site and the amount of treading on eggshells we have to do not to offend someone is mind boggling. But we're big on diversity EXCEPT when it comes to smokers. They're just classed as scum.

Welcome! Have fun looking for your perfect PV and there is so much advice on this list. When I started I smoked cigarettes and vaped, I found vaping to be so much better tasting I weaned off cigs no problem, but I did not stress over it. You may find something similar for yourself that vaping just tastes so much better! LOL I think in UK Liberty Flights UK is a good vendor for you, I have ordered from them here in the states too. My advice is get the longest battery life you can for the look you are after in a PV. bnrk
