I just started vaping a few weeks ago and for my juices the flavors are described and when I vape them I get none of that. I've tried changing the coils and also smelling coffee beans because I thought it might have been vaper's tongue. I have a Joyetech eGo AIO and I just got the pack of .5 ohm Cubis coils for it. I'm getting even less flavor with them. I would appreciate any help because right now it's just really really bland.
Thanks in advance!

It's not uncommon for actual flavors to be different than the description. I don't know what "flaky buttery pastry dusted with powdered sugar and unicorn farts on a crisp fall morning" would taste like, but all I got was perfume and heartburn. I diy now and all my juice are as advertised....good, great and pif.

It may be vapers tongue but it's hard to know without knowing what devices you are using, what exact coils and at what wattages.... These can all make a large difference and there are some substandard e-liquids out there.

Hope you're able to isolate it, but posting more info may help. Best of luck,

Anna

The device I'm using is the Joyetech eGo AIO and I have the 0.5 ohm Cubis coil in there right now. But before I had the 0.6 ohm. I can't control the wattage on it. All the e-liquids that I got are rated very highly by the users.

It's possible the wattage is too high for your juices/coil. If you have any device (or any person who could "taste test" flavors in your tank for you), that could mean that you need something with lower wattage, or higher resistance coils, if your wattage is fixed, although I briefly took a look at the product page, I'm unclear whether it naturally reduces in wattage or remains fixed at one wattage? Having someone taste your juices might rule out vapers tongue as well (I'd have them taste it on your device and if they find flavor, this might point more to vaper's tongue...)

I'm also not clear if you've gotten "no" taste from the beginning, or it has suddenly dropped off. If it's the former, it's more likely to be your setup in some way (or, those juices are just not right for you) if it has happened more suddenly, well, you're in the right time period for vaper's tongue, honestly. There are lots of remedies for that (biotene, more water, lemon zest to "wake your tastebuds up, sniffing coffee grounds or sucking on a coffee bean, tongue scraper, the list goes on) but mainly it's time. I had it myself for a few days. If it is vaper's tongue the main thing to do is have patience, and also sometimes vaping unflavored is a good idea, as without the "expectation" of flavoring the frustration is less.

Good luck and I do hope you get it figured out.

Welcome aboard @thekillamon !

Just my opinion, but I have always felt finding the right juice(s) is as important, if not more, then the right gear. If you can, go to a vape shop, or 2 or 3 where you can taste/try their juices. A good vape shop will steer you to flavors of interest to you, but don't be afraid to try some that may not even sound good. One of my favorites I use daily now, I would have never tried had I been told what was in it. Even if you think it is a flavor you will like, buy the smallest bottle available (unfortunately, not as small as they used to be). Too many times I've liked a flavor in their tester gear, but at home, in my gear, and hitting it for a few hours, it lost its luster. If you still like it, you can always stop back and get a bigger bottle (or check availability online).

If only buying online, get testers or the smallest bottle available to try. Reviews are just OK for an idea, but don't put a lot of stock in them. Keep in mind "one man's junk is another man's treasure." More people that think it is "the bomb" are likely to review then those who don't particularly care for it. And we never know for sure just who is writing those reviews. I personally started with a few flavors I liked from a shop before playing "juice roulette" online.

Once you've found a few you like, continue your search for something even better. Even include "a flyer" now and then. Never know when you will find a winner! Too many times I've been all set with a flavor, a favorite vape, and it goes out of production.

Good luck! Your juice is out there waiting for you. You just have to find it.

If none of the juices are giving you flavor it is probably your coil choice. I've never bought a device I couldn't control watts on, so can't help there. I think @Coastal Cowboy has some experience with those coils. Best I can offer is shut down your af a little at a time and try to find a sweet spot.

Nope. I've never used the Cubis coils but if you're using them on a run-of-the-battery AIO device, you're better suited with the 1.0 and 1.5 Ohm coils. The lower resistance coils are designed for use in variable wattage devices. They have a lot more metal mass in them and probably take more power than your battery device can deliver. The 1.0 and 1.5 have thinner wire for higher resistance and reach the "right" temperature to produce more vapor and more flavor at lower wattages.

Sorry CC. But you were able to help anyway. Thought the Cubis used those EUC(?) coils.

I think they're compatible, but the same would apply either way. The EUC's are also better on VW devices and don't really produce their best until 30-ish Watts and pretty much max out at 40-ish. The SS316L wired coils are also great performers in TC mode.

If the reviews are on the manufacturer's website, they often censor out the bad or poor reviews. Not everyone likes the same e-liquids, so its very unusual for all the reviews to be great. Nothing but great reviews always makes me skeptical of the company's honesty.

I think maybe don't use the 0.5ohm.
The 0.6ohm are bland enough and the others are just terrible. (i.m.o)
Actually, these coils - I bought 100 from China before the EU lockdown and only use them for nasty homemade tobacco flavors. I wouldn't be wasting premium liquid in an AIO or Cubis tank.

I started with a couple of EGO AIO pen style/tube style mods and they really don't produce a lot of flavor in retrospect. The second thing is that vaping flavors just aren't the same as the real thing. It takes a bit of imagination and or vaping to say, "Oh that's strawberry" as it really doesn't taste like a fresh strawberry. Vaper's tongue? Could be. Drink lots of fluid. Some advise water, I like Diet Coke. Go figure. You just quit smoking. When I first quit smoking I couldn't tell the difference between a strawberry and a meat ball. They were both round. Now taking into consideration that vaping flavors are flavors onto themselves, some flavors register with folks some don't. A friend gave me a wonderful 120ml bottle of Cherry flavored juice because all he tasted was cinnamon. I don't taste any cinnamon. Really good cherry though. Vape cherry that is.

Oh ya, and before I forget my manners again, Welcome!!! It gets better! Keep vapin!!!!
