Not just for vaping

I just started vaping about a week ago and purchased my first kit. As soon as I got it I noticed I didn't just like using it. But I found it fun to look up accessories. I soon found myself buying more stuff for it. The tinkering part seems rather addicting. Do others find it isn't just the act of vaping that is making this so appealing?

Has turned into a bit of a hobby.

I was trying to describe it to a friend at home and it is more akin to pipe smoking than cigs. I spent a little bit of time with a pipe and you have all these bits and pieces to play with.

Atomizers, tanks, carto's of any number of different styles, flavours, dripping all good fun. Don't even want to start talking about mods. Got really caught up in the acquisition of them for a while.

Everyone is searching for the "perfect" vape. Not simply good enough, but perfect. For some a stick batt satisfies for the rest we tinker. I spent a bunch of $ finding the best for me (juice-wise and hardware-wise). Now, I'm in a comfort zone and haven't spent more than a couple $ in the last month.

Best for me=Provari V2 with Boge 3.0ohm cartos in a DCT V2 tank (using long barrel drip tip) and a half dozen awesome flavors in 70ml bottles :toast:

Gotta love both ends of it. Vaping is great (especially as an alternative to smoking) and customizing your experience is equally great. However, I have found myself searching vendors, playing with everything I have and stalking the mail carrier until those packages arrive..so it has turned into a hobby or possibly worse!

I think like most things, it's different for different people. Some folks want something that "just works" - most of them probably wouldn't consider buying a car without an automatic transmission, and they'll likely be reluctant to part with their automatic, analog-sized batteries as well. Then at the other end, there's the gadget freaks & tinkerers... folks who can't rest until they know how something works - or why it quit working. Heck, I've been known to break things just to see if I could fix 'em.

Other factors come into play as well. There are folks who take great pride in building amazingly functional mods from old boiler parts somebody was paying 'em to haul off (okay I made that up, but you get the idea :) ). And then there are people who take (almost, I presume,) as great a pride in shelling out untold amounts of cash for the latest, greatest & most beautiful limited edition mods to be found anywhere on the Planet, that vape every bit as well as the home-built "old boiler" mod from example "a".

But none of that matters, as long as everybody's having a good time. Happy Vaping! :vapor:

I have been vaping for about five and a half months now and it has been a pleasurable way to get past analogs. Then two days ago I joined ECF just looking for a cheaper supplier for the same items I had been buying. Well, all of a sudden the possibilities became endless. Since joining I have spent hours reading and deciding what to purchase next. I can definately see this becoming a hobby. My order goes in tomorrow morning for a KGO starter kit with plans to move on to a vv mod within a month.

What Fun!

The tinkering is actually what did the trick for me. I can't say for certain that I'd have dropped the analogs if I couldn't have tinkered with it. It's certainly a hobby and bordering on an obsession. The 808's that I started with just don't cut it any more. I'm spending more time on my passthrough than anything else simply because it gives me a better vape. It can get expensive though, so I'm taking it slow. A couple of things every paycheck and I know I'll get there eventually.
