Been vaping for a few months now. Switched from a cheap e-cig to a ego and now really enjoy this.

I'm using Mega Cartomizers with the ego. I started with premixed "PG china juice" which produced good vapor. I was so excited, I decided to start mixing myself.

Last week I ordered a DIY kit with PG base. I mixed a few small batches and used fresh carto's. My mixtures were exactly what the calculators indicate. Never used more than 10-15% flavor. I cannot exhale any vapor. When I take a long steady draw, the hit is harsh, but still no vapor when I exhale (or a trace amount). I've tried 3 different mixes, each with a new carto. The flavors seem ok, just no vapor production. When switching back to a carto with the pre made stuff, everything is normal again.

Whats going on?

Well, if it is all PG, that is the issue. VG is what produces most vapor, and a 100% PG juice may not produce any. You are still getting the full hit from it, as the vapor is just a visual thing, but yeah, if I wasn't getting any vapor, I think I would revert back to analogs strangely enough. You can try to add some VG into it, however it will dilute the flavor and nicotine, so you would want to possibly add a tad more flavor into it. A lot of people are happy with an 80/20 PG/VG mix, so if you add 20% of VG to your mixture you should be right around there, however with about the same loss in nicotine and a slight flavor reduction. The flavor reduction might not matter though since VG does have a bit of a sweet taste to it.

I don't know if it's too late or not, but you could just go to CVS and get some glycerin there. It's next to where the peroxide and whatnot is. they are in 177ml bottles. The bottle has a blue circle logo that says Pure Glycerin USP. The USP is there to assure that is is a safe, food quality glycerin I believe. There's a thread somewhere on this site explaining it it more detail, but I know the ones from CVS fall into this category.

I tried to keep it to myself, but found I cannot.

That is incorrect. Wholly incorrect. While VG more vapor than PG, PG produces a substantial amount of vapor on its own. Have you ever vaped straight PG?

Let me take a slightly different approach; did you know that PG is one of the standard liquids used in fog machines? If it didn't create vapor, that would not be so. If it didn't create vapor, it wouldn't be a standard liquid used for e-cigs (Personal Vaporisor). Yes, VG is also used in both, but trying to indicate that the OP's difficulties would be from using a 100% PG nic liquid is terribly misleading and wholly uninformed.

There is "more to the story" that we do not know that might give an indication to where the problem lies.

I hope this may add some clarity to the situation.
