Well, I've been playing guitar for about 20 years (as a hobby) but there has been few periods (especially in late 90's) when I wasn't playing much at all.
I guess that's true. I listen quite much of guitar music, or other music which has guitar as an essential element. My favorite guitar players include names like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, Richie Blackmore... you get the picture. The list goes on and on
Our nation absolutely loves heavy/metal music. It's more popular here than anywhere else in the whole world. Maybe that says something about the mentality of our people - I don't know...
Well, here's some Finnish melodic metal
Lead singer (Tarja Turunen) was previously a classical opera singer before she started a new career in this Finnish symphonic metal band called Nightwish. Live from Helsinki, 2007
Lead vocalist and lead guitar player Alexi Laiho was voted world's best guitarist of 2006 by Metal Hammer magazine. I still think Steve Vai is better than Alexi in any given year Oh well - opinions, opinions
And this is how life was back in 90's - in my country anyways. Beautiful women, fast cars and...um, rap music. Times - they sure are chancing. Nowadays we don't have so much of that...rap music
Anyhow, here's some 90's rap-music and racing track activities from my country:
Just one more "Finnish culture spam message"... I promise this will be the last one (maybe)
For those of you who don't believe that Finland is the only country in the world where heavy metal is actually mainstream music - well here's BBC (British Broadcasting Company) documentary for you.
Part I / 6 (rest of the documentary can be found from youtube)
The one I posted was a reflection of my mood last night. Our refrigerator died and we lost a couple hundred dollars worth of food. New fridge delivered this morning.
Says that vid won't play in this country... but that's Ok cuz I'm sure we've all heard/seen it before. I was a big Genesis fan until Peter Gabriel left...
Here's something to cheer Bovinia up (I hope...) I first saw/heard this incredible one-woman band on late night TV and it was love at first sight!!! She lives in New Orleans now, but is originally from Sweden...
Rehearsing in her kitchen!! (note the tiny little fridge)
These will show Thanks for the vids SK and Marv! Ms. Andersson is certainly a great multi-tasker!!
Marv I loved the acoustic vid you posted of your friend...and now Buzz owner! Doesn't get much better than that! And Conan was funny Oh yeah, my father's name was Marvin too
