This is one of my fave songs off of FZ's 2nd solo album, Hot Rats, which was released in 1969, and dedicated to his (then) new-born son Dweezil.... Ha!!
Things came full-circle when Dweezil's band Zappa Plays Zappa won a Grammy for it in 2009... exactly 40 yrs. later!!!
It's hard to think of Dweezil being in his 40's now...

I had not heard before. Bizarre for that day and age. Yeah keep that quiet around the parents. My first Zappa was 200 Motels after I was out of the house.

I was born in '59 so I hadn't discovered the joy of music in '65 except the Elvis or country music my mom listened to. My brother is 2 years older so when I started getting interested in music around '72 I had all of his albums to pilfer

Don't feel bad, neither have I... LOL!! And I had a friend that was in the stage show out here, too!!
I used to see the people lined up for the Midnight show at this little movie theater in town, all dressed up in costume, but I would have liked to have seen it before they got into all of that...
I had to rent it to check it out was at least 30 if not older. Only time it was showing where I was at, when I was younger, was in the student union at Halloween. Always a good party to go to instead.

Well, this isn't exactly a cult classic, but it is just for you, Bov. It's really cool because of how the cows start scattered but then become interested in the music...
Well this one may have already been posted by Wharf rat, but I'm gunna throw it up there again! This year I was lucky enough to see 7 Furthur shows. I was at all three of their shows at Red Rocks this last weekend! It may not be the same without Jerry but I'll take what I can still get!

But, in Celebration of Dios de los Muertos... (which actually started yesterday) I thought I would post a little something by this local band from East L.A. called Quetzal... with the beautiful voice of Martha Gonzalez. The best I can describe them as is Chicano Fusion.... and although I might not understand the words to most of their songs, the music transcends all language barriers!!
And here was my avi from yesterday...
