Welcome Domino and I'll try not to be too much trouble ;).

Good luck with everything MK. I hope Mike is doing better. I'm dealing with sick hubby myself right now (thread in the success stories section which I would link to if I could figure out how to do it, but on no sleep in a week I can't think), and it's stressful. Make sure you take care of yourself too. People keep telling me that, but it's not easy to do.

What a frightening thing to have happen to your DH!! All of our thoughts and prayers are with both of you Moonflame! As a Paramedic, I can tell you that a tear like that usually does NOT have a happy ending, he's very, VERY lucky. Sounds like you are too.

Big hugs from all here!!!

Thanks! He's doing really well so far. He managed to take a shower with minimal help today, so he's making great progress. I never ever EVER want to be that scared again. I'm really grateful for all of the support here.

I keep looking around and thinking..why am I holding on to THAT! Another problem is that I moved a lot of Mom's stuff up here to make her feel at home..all her bedroom furniture and her living room. It will be odd to have to pick and choose what goes back!
I also have well over a thousand videos..I use to own a Video store and we kept some and I added to it. I wish they were all DVD's! At least the would fit the new place!
Another thing is my fireplace..I will miss the mantle! I am thinking about one of those fake fireplaces just to have the flickering and the mantle..lol!
Mike is doing fine right now..however my legs are getting edema..not good. I have an appt. on weds to talk about it.

Ankles and calfs..stomach and face too. All this right after the spaghetti dinner, on my feet for 7 hours.I thought maybe heat...but I drank lots of water. It's gone now but I did spend 3 days with my legs elevated and ate a lot of watermelon and drank cranberry juice. I like coffee so that is all the drug store diurectics are anyway..caffine. I don't use those because they give me leg cramps even with potassium pills.
I did a blood test thrusday so she would have some numbers to look out.

Make sure you are taking care of yourself MaryKay, even if you feel guilty for taking time out for yourself. We can't take care of our hubbys if we don't take care of ourselves too. Thankfully, typing this is reminding me to do the same thing and I might even take the time for a long bath tonight just to relax. Pick one thing that rejuvenates you each day and do it. Think of it as a prescription instead of a treat. You're helping Mike by being good to yourself. Now I just need to remember to do this myself while I'm taking care of Darren. I made the mistake last night of looking up more information online about what happened to him and freaked myself out for a while, but thankfully he's doing really well.
