Does anyone know how to build a ViVi Nova coil to a specific resistance? Every time I build one I get 1.8 ohms. Need it a bit higher. 2.4+ Maybe a sticky or current thread out there somewhere?
I hope someone answers this, I have cotton wick and three different sizes of Kanthal, 28, 32 and 36. I can successfully wrap, but I am either getting 1.2ish or 4.2ish. If there were a chart that listed the size of the wire, number of wraps, and resulting resistance, it would at least get me in the right direction.

From what I gather, the 32 gauge is for low resistance rebuilds. The 36 is for high resistance rebuilds. So my thinking is 34 should be just what I want. I'm also taking the wick thickness into consideration as well. Here's what I've found so far.
6/0 square cotton braided wick, which = 1.0mm and 32 gauge kanthal with 4 wraps yields me a 1.8 ohm coil. The same wick and wire with 5 wraps yields me a 2.0 ohm coil. Based on that I have ordered some 34 gauge wire and some 1/0 cotton braided wick which is double the thickness @ 2.0mm. I'm hoping the higher resistance wire and the thicker wick will bring me up to at least 2.4 ohms with 4 wraps. 2.6 ohms with 5. I'll keep you posted.
Keep an eye on the thread below. Mac and I are putting our heads together, comparing our results and trying and figure this out. Please feel free to add your findings as you go along.
Thanks!! I'll have to read through the threads, I know that the difficult part is figuring out the right combination. Darned videos make it look easy, but I have to remember that most Youtube videos aren't going to show the fails, just the successes.
