I've been vaping for over 7 months after smoking for almost 56 years. I do feel that I could quit vaping with little discomfort or stress, but I enjoy vaping and don't really think about quitting - at my age I prefer to keep at least one of my vices. Thanks for the interesting post. Much appreciated.

Yes - That's what I mean, the thought of quitting cigarettes, or commencing a quit from the cigarette, was just so grueling and monumental. Suddenly having a feeling that you can... I'm just floored by that. Thanks :)

The thought of quitting smoking was always one that caused some anxiety. I quit smoking and took up vaping to replace the nicotine addiction. But now I think I could actually quit vaping too. It doesn't cause the anxiety that the thought of quitting smoking did. I definitely agree, there are other addictive substances in tobacco that must have had an effect. Now that they're out of my life I think it would be much easier to eliminate the nicotine as well.

Mmmmhmmmmm, that quit smoking anxiety was a monkey on my back! When I transitioned to vaping, I did so with the thought that I could switch to a less harmful way of continuing my nicotine addiction. I never thought I would have this experience of believing I could stop vaping too!

I didn't really 'want' to quit smoking, and so far I have no intention of quitting vaping. As a vice, or whatever you want to call it, I enjoy it and actually switched to something tastier and higher nic from my previous PV that helped me quit cigs in the first place. I like it. No plans to quit.

Yeah, I hear ya, I didn't want to quit smoking either... until I got wind of vaping... the fact that I could think of quitting vaping just blows me away (she said while adding more cotton candy juice to the atty) :)

PS: Congrats on your nine months! You'll be a veteran soon :)

I would say that "feeling like" doing something and actually doing something are two different things.

Everyone's different and everything is possible though!

All the best!

Thanks Throatkick. Quitting altogether is a long term goal for me... I just hope this feeling keeps growing... :)

I don't think vaping has the same hold on me that tobacco did. It's different. - Quit? Well, maybe. Sometimes I vape zero nic for a few days. So, I'm pretty sure the nic addiction isn't nearly what it was on analogs. - I carry a 510 and a PCC during the day when I'm out working. Some days, I charge my bats 5 times. Some days, I'll charge once. - That's way different than I was with analogs. I smoked half a cig 38 times a day every day no matter what. I was compulsive with the analogs. - I am not compulsive with my PVs.

The only real evidence I have that I could probably quit vaping if I had a reason to quit vaping is this: If I ever left the house without my pack of analogs, i freaked out a little. The moment in the car half way to work when I realized i didn't have my smokes in my pocked was seriously stressful. I'd make a bee-line for the nearest convenience store even if it would make me late for work. - I've forgotten my PCC more than once and just decided to pick it up at lunch. No stress.

I know if I "wanted" to quit I could do it very easily, I've ran out of juice a few times and had to wait a few days to a week for a new order to come in and I had no hardcore withdrawl symptoms, I craved a vape, But I didn't need it.
But personally, I don't see my self ever quitting vaping, I love it too much, It gives me something to do. I associate it with many things (Like I did with cigs) Such as vaping when I read a book, Study,Play my guitar etc... Its a big part of my daily activities. I totally support anyone's decision to quit though.

It's awesome that you were able to be smoke and vape free for a few days -- do you think, if you had still been on smokes, that you could have gone without as well? I know I couldn't even think of it when I was on smokes! :)

Not a chance could I go that long when I was smoking cigs,
Plenty nights I can remember going out at 2 in the morning to get a pack.
That's what I love about vaping, I'm in control... where as with cigs - They were in control !

+1

I think it would be much easier to quit now that it ever was with cigarettes, but I enjoy it. I'm down to 6mg strength, and could probably start mixing some 0mg into my routine.

Not really. Part of it is the uncertainty of the future i.e. if FDA has their way and all of that. It would be just my luck to finally give up cigs for Vaping then have it all turned upside down.

And the fact that I can never just run to a corner store for something I need, it's an adjustment getting used to having to order
things in advance. I am not all that organized to being with :)
