Thanks, CES.

Is anyone else getting a pop-up window asking whether you want to navigate away from a page? It warns me that if I do, changes made by the editor (?) will be lost, and demands I click Cancel or OK button. Is this a new feature? Never had that before. It's extremely annoying and, of course, slows me down even more as I'm forced to click more buttons in order to move to another place.... I hope it's just a glitch....
Yes, Tweety, I got that window last night, when I was on the Pre-vets. When I clicked on "Post Quick Reply", instead of my message being posted, I got that "navigate away from page" window. It happened twice, last night.

it happens to me several times a day, and when it does there is no such thing as 'quick reply' :D

No Lis, it wasn't the auto-save option. It was a separate window, asking if I wanted to leave the page.

I think they may be somehow related....

Anyway, I don't want it! :)

+1, I get "...losing reply if you leave page" when there is no message in the reply box. And that auto save is annoying.

Also the FB and Google links on top of page are slowing down page refresh noticeably. All other webpages I visit are still just as quick, so it's not cookies or cache issues for me.

On the 28th, my antivirus popped up warning of malware when on this site, as others have reported. My AV program caught and quarantined it, but these buttons loading is really making my time here so much less enjoyable than it used to be. This was one of my favorite places to hang out at online. It's become beyond annoying at times waiting for these silly buttons to load, and for my blood pressures sake, (lol) I am limiting time here until this can be worked out somehow. =(

I am running a laptop with Windows XP most of the time. All programs are up to date, virus protection, malware protection. If anyone knows of how to block these buttons, or of a fix, please let me know?

I just wanted to post an update. Since my post above, I followed Rolygates suggestions (thanks Roly!) and things seem to be much better. (as per this thread, and the "computer security" thread) Turns out I did have some older, outdated versions of things running and had no idea that I did. Thanks so much for the heads up.

I still have to wait a few for the buttons to load, but no where's near as long as it was taking before!!! Thank goodness! (I believe Ccleaner helped with that)

I use IE as of late, would I benefit to dl Firefox??? TIA

lol, roly! there are still some disadvantaged people who frequent ecf! i have no access to cable or dsl. no router; just an aircard that struggles and feels every little speed bump thrown up by those buttons! ;)

I have dial-up. Someone toss me one of those disadvantaged-people-who-frequent-ECF life rafts, please.
