I tried the Ego T and had the same problems. I would drag on it till my head felt like it was going to explode and got some vapor and not much flavor. I did all the things I read about on the forum and still couldn't get it to work very well. I finally gave up and pulled the little metal piece out of the atomizer and now I use it for dripping. I really don't like the Ego T at all.

@concats....

Did you say your tank gets empty after 10 puffs?

Practically. But there was a lot of leakage on both carts I tried. Someone told me that the caps on the carts are plastic... Mine are most definately rubber/silicone.

Getting back to the battery, after a full charge it still cuts me off after maybe 8 seconds? I mean, maybe thats a long draw... I dunno. Its not getting me much vapor though. And again clicking it 5 times does not turn it off. Am I crazy or does that sound like I got duped?

Maybe I should have got a VG mix, but I heard thick juices are bad for these tank systems. Still, even with 100% PG I should be exhaling vapor right? A barely visible whisp isnt what I expected.

I can always buy another model I guess. If this is my path to quitting smoking then I can forgive buying one paper weight.

the only thing that leaks for me is the drip atomizer. It looks like I washed my hands in nicotine after using it, plus I get more nicotine in my mouth then in my lungs. Mine doesn't cut off after 8 seconds, mine gets red hot and im afraid of burning out the wick because I have to pull so much and so often to get a decent throat hit. I have no problems turning my unit on and off. Do you have a warranty? another thing I thought of thats happened to me, is I forget to put that little round peice of plastic back on the tank and I lose all my liquid. do you put the cap back on the tank when you fill it?

Concat a real eGo-T has plastic ends on the cartridges, the only rubber silicone parts are the caps you put on for transporting them when full.

If your order is with whom I think it's with, then you infact have a replica eGo-T model and not a true one. I believe this was for-warned in my previous post when you placed the order. And I had indicated that while their kits may be real, their replacement parts most certainly are not.

Best bet is to purchase a legit eGo-T system from a more reputable supplier and rate the system accordingly. I don't have any of those issues with mine now that all the parts on it are legit.

Even if you purchase a 510 model from that supplier, I can also say that his 510 atomizers are not real either and don't work. If anything they create a short off the battery as there is no dielectric material between the outside ground and inside positive at the battery connection end.

When hooking the fake 510 atty to my eGo batt, the light immediately flashed when pushing the button...

Which supplier is selling knockoff Ego-T parts? I was going to buy a couple more atomizers, but I don't want to get them from a supplier that is selling knockoffs. If it's against the rules to mention them here, could you link me to the thread you mentioned where you warned him about them?

Anyway, definitely get the real thing from a trusted supplier (HappyVaper, Evapers, NicFitNation) and you won't have any of these problems.

The only time I didn't totally love my Ego-T was when I initially got it and accidentally didn't push the cartridge in far enough. Ever since then, it's had good vapor production, and I can vape for a few hours straight without having to refill. It was my first PV, and I like it so much that I haven't even felt like trying the original Ego atomizer I also purchased with it. I've been using it for over 2 months now, and it seems to just keep getting better.

As Rob stated hit Happy Jack at the flea market this WE.

OTOH folks need to be clear wrt what they are using and what they are doing wrong so we can help. Doing this on line is much more difficult than doing this in person. Combine improper terminology with withdrawal symptoms and we often do not have a very cohesive conversation.

I have never for the life of me reached a cut off on an "eGo" battery. Is there one? Folks want the cheapest that is out there. There is usually a reason it is cheap. If one sticks with JoyE there is no problems. Speaking of electronic lock - why do you need that? Because it seems cool and you can turn it off so it won't fire in your pocket? Using an eGo for over a year I have never had one go off in my pocket(s). I just recently upgraded my batteries after 13 months because the internal resistance of the batts no longer provided the power to effectively fire an atty, nor would they take a decent charge.

Now I would like you folks to think of what would happen to their battery should it remain off after a portion of the onboard PCB fails? That is right a dead battery or at least a useless battery if you can't get it back out of electronic lock.

If folks are getting liquid all over the place, there is a good chance the atomiser is flooded. On a std 510, LR 510 5 drops suffice to prime it and 1-2 drops thereafter as you go. On a 306 7 drops are req'd to poperly prime it, 2 quick activations without puffing and then add 2 more drops, adding 2 drops as req'd. If you are leaking, you are dripping too much. If it gurgles it is flooded. The eGo T atty is not for dripping. The eGo Mega atty both type A and type B, require the same priming as an 801. 8 drops then 2-3 as req'd. Periodically you have to blow out what I call spent fluid. Liquid that has sit in the atty that has been exposed to repeated heating. After a blow out re-prime with half the amount and you are good to go.

In my most humblest of opinions - although the tips and tricks section is a valuable entity on ECF, it also contains a bunch of rubbish. Look closely at whom is providing the advice. How long have they been vaping etc... The same holds true with some videos out there.

My eGo T hits like a freight train. Did I get a special one? I don't know I am still using the same atty from the beginning going on 4 weeks. It did start to mis-behave after 9 days. I flushed it with alcohol, let it dry for 24hrs and use a different liquid now. I have not had to clean it since, and that is with 100% VG liquids.

I still have 3 carts and 1 Mega eGo atty left from 5 and 2, that was gifted to me from happy Jack last summer in Aug. It still performs like the day I got it (after break in of course). Am I just a lucky SOB or is there more to the story. I get 4-6 months out of my atomisers. I don't mess with them. Outside of an occasional blow through they see no maintenance.

eGo batteries used in conjunction with LR atties, is not a good combination (regardless of mAh rating). Yes folks are using them, but expect a reduce life expectancy from the battery. Most of the time the mofset on the PCB burns out as it can't handle the current draw of chain vaping like some folks do.

An atty that is hot should be allowed to cool down prior to re-dripping. Cool anything on a hot surface causes thermal shock and subsequent possible failure. If you are a vaper that requires 15-20 successive pulls on a PV per session, use 2 devices and allow them to cool off prior to re-dripping.

I see folks asking for advice. They get sound advice by the community, and then go off and do the opposite only to come back and complain. Imagine how frustrating it is for skilled vapers to have to respond to this day in and day out. It does indeed become cumbersome after a while.

In closing we most often get what we pay for. A decent product at a reasonable price will often outlast any of the cheaper variances out there. If a vendor is selling knock offs as JoyE products and are advertised as such, JoyE is more than appreciative with the information and will indeed contact said vendor to cease and desist. IMHO their is nothing wrong with selling cheaper nock offs as everyone is entitled to earn a living, but please do not advertise as genuine this or that. If folks buy nock offs knowingly because of a cheaper price, then it becomes buyer beware. It became their choice and the vendor is not at fault.

That was the protection circuit kicking in. Without protection you might have had a thermal runaway.

Ok, I don't own an ego-t but I do own a Titan 510. Now on the ego-t the carts/atomizer aren't the same but I have seen tons of places where people say the amount of vapor is about the same (And you can always get rid of the tank part and just put on a normal 510 atty/cart).

Now I don't know if your unit is broken/faulty but it is very plausible. Like I said I have a titan, and I get tons of vapor and lots of throat hit.

I don't get a whole lot of taste though, but it depends on the juice. The juice I am currently using probably need higher voltage to give a nice flavor. On the flavor end this might also be your problem. Some juices just don't react the same and are tastier on a higher or lower voltage.

As far as throat hit goes, I would say to test different combination of pg/vg, and also test different juices. Some people experience bigger throat hits with pg, some with vg it all depends of the person. I personally get less of a throat hit with my 100% Pg mixes then with my 100% Vg mixes. Another thing to look for is once again different juices at different strengths. I have some 36 mg juices that give very little throat hit but some at 24 that gives me tons (overwhelming.. too much for me).

People on here can recommend you a PV but for Carts / Atomizers / Juice Flavors / Juice Strengths / Juice Bases , although seeing that most people like them should be a good indication, you have to try different combinations and find out what you personally like best.

One person's dream setup might be your worst nightmare :p

Another thing to look out for is trying to pull the vapor too fast. What I have noticed with my 510 is that if I take long inhalations without sucking on the vape too hard I get more vapor. If I try to suck the air in my lungs real hard to get more vapor, I usually get less.

How long you keep the vapor inside your lungs also has an effect. Nicotine gets absorbed by the body in about half a second once inhaled. So no need to take big long puffs then keep the vape in there and hold your breath for 3-4 seconds. Just take it in and expire the air out slowly... this gives me tons of vapor.

    The vendor is Vapors Kitchen.

I did not read any posts questioning the authenticity of their hardware until it had already shipped. I searched the forum prior to purchasing, by topic mind you, and didn’t find anything that set off red flags. I watched a few videos that praised the unit, so I figured that was my ticket.

Their price was the cheapest out of all the Canadian vendors, and they have a large selection of juices. As soon as I read a post concerning a non-legit atomizer (after my order was in the mail…..) I emailed VK and they said their supplier deals directly with Joye. I decided to hold off and wait until I got the starter kit.

I emailed them again last night to bring up the issues I have, and the concerns of legitimacy – the wrong box, the rubber cap ends, the button not turning off after 5 clicks (and no it’s not a feature I MUST have – but I thought it was one that was indicative of authenticity), and they once again assured me that they work with “Frank Chur” at Joyetech and the 1st model of the ego-T did not have the 5-click-on/off feature.

So I dunno, there’s a bit of full disclosure. Nobody warned me prior to purchasing, let alone shipping… so let’s just relax on that front. No, I didn’t read every single post on VK. But I mean, they clearly state it’s Joye on the website, and they’re not an ebay seller from Hong Kong after all. The Canadian following seems like a strong tight knit community - getting knockoff hardware from a Canadian vendor didn’t seem like a material concern. And even in the face of accusation the vendor is claiming that it is simply a 1st gen model. So make of that what you will. I don’t know if it’s truly a knockoff. I don’t know if I’m just an idiot… ok so maybe that much I do know… haha. I’m just not happy with it.

Oh and lastly thank you to everyone for the help and advice. (Hexy, NoizMaker, Lil Stewie, etc)

Now I just need to figure out my next step. Order atties and carts (both for ego and ego-t for comparison perhaps) from another vendor and try those on my unit (along with some VG based juices)? Try to get a refund and buy another starter kit? Decisions, decisions...

What does the battery look like? I noticed in the video that was posted, the Bauway Ego T itank has Riva style batteries (gold band instead of silver, rubber button instead of hard plastic) It also says that the batteries are only 650 mAh, compared to the Joye Ego-T kits which have 1100 mAh batteries. If I were you I would try and get a refund, unless you are happy with making due with what you got, they should work with other 510 atties/cartos. I went through a similar experience with rainbowvapors, and when I questioned them about the authenticity about it, they got very defensive and said their their manufacturers are to Joye standards and specifications. Now, 2 months later, I had to throw one of the batteries away due to overheating, and the other one has a button that doesn't stick up anymore and it lasts about half as long as my genuine Joye batteries that I have had for just as long.

All of my negative experience with not getting enough vapor production has been due to defective atomizers. I have had more garbage attys than I have had good ones. I've had authentic Joye attys from Totally Wicked and from various members on the forum, along with the other kind, which I can't remember the name of now... out of maybe 20 total, only 2 or 3 have been good, and none of them have lasted very long.

I find the most effective way of testing an atty is to direct drip. If you don't get significant vapor from directly dripping a few drops onto the atty, then the atty is most likely crap.

Another thing is, don't suck so hard that you get juice in your mouth. These things require a light draw.. they're not like cigarettes. You need to lightly draw so that the atty has a chance to vaporize the juice. It takes some practice.. which is hard to do if the atty doesn't work properly.

The batteries have a silver band, with a clear plastic button that lights up blue. When I hold the button down, it starts flashing after about 8 seconds and stops providing power to the atty. I don’t think it’s the battery telling me to charge it. Both batteries are consistently 8 seconds or so, and I did give it a full charge. Could this be due to a faulty or poor atty? The “protection circuit” being triggered, as previously suggested in regards to a fake 510 atty on the ego battery? With a slow and steady draw, it cuts me off prematurely.

Oh and the website says they are 650 mAh batteries.

i despise vendors that are unclear on the product they sell all the recent talk about vk and their fake parts is surprising im just glad i came across all this before i tried them out , if they are cheaping out on the electronics you can be sure their cheaping out on whats going in to the juice they are selling , its worth the few extra bucks to stick with the recommended suppliers

Thanks. I don't know why people are so worried about posting the name of a vendor that is selling fakes and/or defective product. Aren't we supposed to be protecting each other from that kind of stuff? I figured that was one of the points of this forum.

It's not just this new and hyped industry..... its been happening for decades upon decades in every facet of vending with copies and market name twists of namebrand products for shoddy products. Unfortunately with ecigs, you have the interest and future prospects of addicts desperate for financial reason or (as it should be), health reasons, being taken advantage of from many with no business experience what-so-ever and only a desire to make money.

Personally, I look at it this way..... annually I spent $ 9165.00 (minimum) per year on cigarettes, so..... to me, that means I have the potential of saving money (quite a bit of it if you think about), by NOT smoking and relying on the mail to deliver my new hobby's goods and further save the gas money and personal time to go out and purchase them.

This to "me" means I am capable of buying, where ecigs are concerned, genuine products from proven respected vendors, and finding out about all that is out there is what this forum is all about. However, it also means one must be attentive to what & where the information is coming from and a willingness to realize that theres a damn good chance that somewhere along the line one will get caught up on the hype of something "new & shiney" being released to either find it was great, or (for THAT individual) it was a turd. Either way, it's still under that annual threshold of spending on ones habbit with chances of still saving in the end.

With the way "this" industry is going (and only bound to become even more confusing), it is the main reason WHY I only recommend the true sound devices, (for me it was a 510 manual or a manual Ego), spares, and "basic" reliable combinations of the goods, and established vendors to people starting out. THEN, once they are comfortable with the transition to vaping, they can venture out and start experimenting in tweaking, adding on, changing, or getting into mods (while still having that trusty little beginner device to always fall back on in the event of a mishap.

Also noteworthy..... I believe so many new people come here and only read about those who "one off" quiting or transitioning and become angered that they struggle themselves with the switch. It shouldn't be really....... any un-smoked cigarette is a win, and for the hard to transition people it will eventually become their turn when "THEY" are ready to commit (Hell.... I took 2+ years to finally say "enough is enough" and just plunge into the commitment).

To those who have managed to and embraced their own journey... the device is a MIRACLE !!!, one which "I" am so very thankful for. But, it certainly is not a magic wand that some how makes any struggles not appear which is what this forum is for to discuss your struggle and gain support of others in your boat or others who have already been there and now soar in success.

    READ -- LISTEN -- LEARN -- COMMIT !!

    VapeOn,
    Greg
