NR-R-NR wire?

Been thinking about getting the stuff for this for a while... Are the results really worth it? And about how much would it cost for everything? (A spool of NR wire & the welding mechanism). Seems like this would be awesome for ribbon wire builds, and maybe even parallel/twisted builds, but I have no clue as to how expensive or time consuming it would be

You can make a CD (Capacitive Discharge) welder pretty cheaply; there's a thread on that here somewhere.

But it's a bit tricky trying to get things set so that you get solid consistent welds. Too much power and you'll just blow the end off the wire, too little and it won't be strong. Also, you need to touch the 2 wires together with some precision. (Not a great match for shaky hands and poor eyesight!)
