I understand Artery managed to get an update to the Nugget and further release Nugget Pro, Mix 80, Mix 150, Ginger, Archer Kit, and Trace tank before the 8/8 cutoff under the radar. Apparently they are getting away from proprietary usb cables they used in the previous version and have upped to to 1500mah from 1000mah the previous version had.

You've been a busy boy this morning, thanks for sharing

So the Nugget has grown, became twice as expensive but also got a 50% battery increase.

I would be really happy with this one if it wasn't for the new Evic Basic. That also has a 1500mAh battery but is still the size of the old Nugget, and only costs 26 bucks, like the old Nugget. Then there's the clock and a much simpler firmware upgrade system, unless they finally changed that too @artery.

Idk about this one.

I hear what you are saying. I got a flyer from Artery because I was in contact with them about Summa and I was floored they introduced all of these products out of nowhere. They only had Nugget & Summa before this so I figured I'd post em up. I didn't really pay attention to the price because fasttech had Summa listed for $100 in the beginning but w/ MAP it went down to like $45 iirc.

Find their UIs more than a bit crude & their products boxy & proprietary but Summa was a really well built unit. I just couldn't get them to put a DNA75 in it. Curse the fact that no one produced a DNA75 All-in-One before 8/8.

Hoping Summa gets better with a Firmware update that adds TCRs and better preheat control, but I haven't seen that yet. Love the tank design as it is top & bottom accessible and it could also be bottom airflow & adapt multiple RBAs. Told them all this and I don't know if they will ever add the accessories.

Yeah, maybe I should wait a little bit before I start attacking the price, lol.

I was very surprised to see those four threads pop up this morning, I guess they were trying to pump them out before the 8th.

I have two original Nuggets and bought both with the MAP code @FT. I personally really like the UI, it's very easy to use one handed and pretty intuitive imo. I think I even prefer it over Joyetechs UI, albeit just slightly. Build quality is good as well.

We'll await some hands on reviews ;)

now i do like THIS nug. just unsure of how the TC is. is it smooth or is it choppy and pulsey? i'm guessing no one can answer that question just yet. i might just take a chance and scoop one up. why not, right?
Can't really speak to the Nugget so probably shouldn't speak at all, but Summa is smooth without noticeable pulsing to me. I do not get a feeling that an active preheat exists and I overpower my coil to achieve preheat & rely on TC setting to keep it in line so if it pulsed I think I would notice it straight away. UI strikes me as very simple, bordering on rudimentary and the auto shutoff timer must be turned off as new coil prompts after an auto shutoff are very annoying.

Didn't Busardo review the first Nugget w/ his usual scoping & all that? You might want to look into that.

Original had no PWM so doubtful this does. It was smooth signal.

Later in vid he has this
upload_2016-8-12_16-55-49.png

He then state first hump is preheat, little spikes are it just maintaining temp w/ no air and smoother curves are him blowing on the coil so it smooths out then. He says you can't notice it when you vape.

I can't speak for the new one but the old Nugget does TC really well.

I use mine with Ti1 mostly but have also tried a little 316L.

I know you could turn it off in Summa and I try to keep it off as 5 clicks to turn on and a mandatiory new coil check are extremely annoying.

I also know if I leave a Summa unused for a few days days like this when I go to use it it will either be dead or much lower on charge than I would expect. I believe Artery boards lack a proper low power sleep function & draw more power than others in idle sleep mode, hence the auto shutdown timer settings being programmed in.

That is why I tried to convince the company to begin a working relationship with Evolv to incorporate Evolv boards into their products as a parallel premium product line prior to August 8th. They chose not to.

I lost interest in the original Nugget after reading on ECF about its "Auto-Off" after 90 minutes...

I wonder if the Nugget V2 still has this kink...(or whether you can now, at least, turn the "Auto-Off"...OFF)...

..

You can set the auto-off to your preference on the original Nugget, or turn it off completely.

That's what I have. Only turns off when I tell it to. Other than that nugget v1 had worked great for me as well. Hope v2 will have a good price once the initial release period is through.
Like all mods, they will be greatly overpriced in the very beginning and for the first few months after release. Artery as a small company will have to insist upon this in order to cover the up front cost of materials and manufacturing as they do not have the resources of the big boys on the block.

Especially due their ambitious product development that apparently occurred days before the 8/8 predicate date. They had three products in their lineup prior to 8/1 and then introduced 6 mods and a tank to their product line. I wouldn't expect they will be offering many bargains any time soon until they are on the brink of bankruptcy.

Bruce says 1.6a.

If you have any questions he is helpful for the most part, but I still have frustration they would allow Summa to languish into obscurity instead of becoming the trly awsome mod it could have been w/ DNA75 & bfba capabilities, choice of popular RBAs & universal coil capability.

i got to thinking and 2 amps could be overkill for such a small battery. 1.6 sounds more along lines of what that size batt can handle without overheating. either way, i'm buying one. i said the same thing when the first nug came out and never did pull the trigger. with this new v2.0 i have no more excuses. i will test the current charge rate with my inline usb meter. just have to wait for them to hit the market.....mod only, don't need the tank.
