I nuked my atomizer on my flashlight USB mod. I accidentally left the manual switch on for about 2 minutes. I smelled something burning and it was my atomizer!!! The cartridge (with no filling) melted. Craziest thing though. It still works. And I've had this atomizer for 3 months. I hope there's nothing toxic in there. I'm already feeling kinda light headed. =(

I have been saying that attys are not as weak as we think!

I clean my attys with 6v 500mA power and I keep them for more than 2 minutes on it!

So, I do not understand how you can kill an atty with just the battery and vaping! Or if you left it to dry!

Have I been just lucky?

No I think you are right. These atomizers can withstand a tremendous amount of heat. The atomizer I left on was scorching hot! As far as the community goes, I think most of the members are afraid to overheat their atomizers. Mainly because of the negative connotation to heat. Therefore, if someone's atomizer died, it would be easiest to blame overheating. Because in essence heat alters the molecular composure of many substances. And I believe that is how of the myths were created.

BTW I'll upload some pics tonight. For those who want to see.

ccure After looking at your Signature, I'm wondering....
Where do you get your analogs that your only paying about a penny for 10
lol

Well, not a penny for 10, but anything from $0.30 for a pack of any national brand and $0.90 for a Marlboro pack. So it is very very cheap to smoke analogs!.

On the other hand, the signature is taking in account the starting cost of the e-cig..... so I have just saved about $4+ vaping. And I am a supplier here and my buying prices are lower since I buy directly from the factory in bulk!

heya guys ... kinda new to the modding arena and didnt want to start a new thread but this is close to what I am dealing with. I modded a 401 battery case to make it manual and it had a usb connector directly on the end of it. The case was cut in half so with the usb connector it is about same length as 401 battery. I built it to use with a usb extension cord when I am by my machine or with my Kensington usb battery. Here is my problem it worked awesome for a few hours but is now dubbed the "Atty Eater." Was the best damn vaping experience I have had. When hooked up to the Kensington it would force the vapor in my mouth. I think it is drawing to much current though, hence the death of 2 atties the first night of using. The Kensington has a max output of 5V at 1.5A vs the 3.7V at .5-1A (not really sure on output of 401 batts). It has to be at least twice the wattage though. Any advice to cut wattage down? Maybe a little heatsinking resistor? Should I give up trying to mod the 401 and go to the 901? I have never used a 901 but it seems like the modders like them. How about the 501's can they handle a lot of power?

Not at home ATM will post pics of the Atty Eater when I get my hands on a camera.

Isn't it 200mAh the capacity? I have seen them rated at 500mA on a chinesse website and I maybe getting confused with the 901 with the 1A. I think I need a chunkier atomizer maybe ill just have to make one.

I am quoting the spec sheet directly from the smoore factory.
