I just posted in one of the thread and then saw my cig.

Today is just 11th day and I have already avoided 100 cigs. I knew I avoided 100 analogs but when I saw it, I was like WOAAH!!! Thats a lot of Tar and carcinogens and chemicals that I have avoided from entering my body.

Do I love these e-cig or what? Man I do....

Congrats Attitude, you are doing great! .....that was a cute Freudian slip too, cig/sig.

I am just at the 3 month mark, so I'm new too, but I love, love, love my Volts and am still in amazement at how easy I gave up a 40 year habit!

I like the avoided part but there should be a new equation for the $$ saved.............I have spent 4 times the number listed below in the three weeks I have been vaping.

Dont get me wrong, I dont care about the money - I have had 6 Christmas mornings in the past two weeks when the UPS guy arrives. I said this in another post but if there was one thing that I actually like is that I smoked for 24 years (PAD) and the excitement went away 23 years, 11 months and 15 days ago......I am actually having fun with the different stuff and if I get bored, I buy something else.

At my current rate, I think I'll "break even" at around six months, but I'm way head health wise already, so who cares?

Now I have found a delivery system that I can live with and made the decision to stick with SI juice I think I will be saving around $80-$100 a month. At the moment I think I have spent more but that was with all the testing and stuff.

I agree that I'm way ahead regarding health so this initial start up cost is well worth it. I also say that to my wife when she asks "Why are you buying more batteries?! I thought this was going to save us money." :D

According to my calculations, I'll hit the "break even" point in another about 2 or 3 months. A 78mm batt with a ce3 (once I finally get one) look to be the perfect combination for me. So I anticipate only juice purchases and the occasional hardware maintenance/upgrade soon. Should be in the $50-80 range on savings per month.

Edit: I also wanted to add that I don't use the the savings number in the sig as actual savings but as a way to calculate if i am getting out of hand with my SI purchases. :)

i don't have a savings,i spent 60.00 a month on tubes and tobacco,i figure the juice will run more then that with out the hardware figured in.

on another note the taxes will be climbing again here in Missouri( state and federal ) you can bet on that.
so maybe i will save a little there MAYBE .

That's very true. Compared to the rest of the country, we pay nothing in taxes for analogs. I switched from a major brand to a cheap one a couple of years ago because the price went up to a whole 5 bucks. I set my calculator at $3 to give me an accurate figure which is is why my "savings" may seem a little low to others.

around the lake here generics are about 2.50 a pack and i did not want to pay that as a 2.5 pack a day smoker

In STL, decent generics run from $2.60-3.20 a pack depending on where you go.

I averaged a pack a day and hated spending $5 a pack. I'm a youngin but when I started, I refused to pay more than $2 a pack. I'd go somewhere else. I got a good friend that lives in NYC and he spends around $10 a pack! I can't even imagine that. Just goes to show you the stranglehold that analogs have.

I can't even tell you how happy and grateful I am that I decided to look into vaping and discovered this forum as well as SI.

Man I am glad I am not the only one. She even started my daughter in on it. Daddy you got another package "I thought you told mommy you were going to start saving money". I then told my wife I'll just start having them shipped to work. I then sat my daughter down for a math lesson. I stopped June 15th. As of today I have spent 60 dollars more than I would have smoking. I am happy with that.

You know what, Somehow I changed it sig to cig. I dont know what happened there. I wrote sig and changed it to cig and reading it now makes me realize it was not supposed to change.

Thats the reason I made no $$ calculations in my post. That doesnt even matter when compared to other part. I am just so so happy.

I hope this e-cig thing gets resolved by FDA soon and resolved good. I dont want my vaping future hanging.

Yup, your not the only one. My wife is/was? very skeptical of this whole vaping thing (much better in the last week).

I was lucky, the initial cost was absorbed by a birthday check so it didn't really cost the family budget anything.

That's great attitude! congratulations, keep it going, find this thread and post back in here when you hit 200, 500, 1000, it will happen before you know it.

This week I am at 990 analogs avoided, and after buying hardware, liquid, I have now saved $ 46.77 granted I don't have the means to purchase all the stuff I would like to have but what I do have keeps me off the analogs.

again, keep it going!

My purchases always came to the office.....then I just come home with it. It is easier to argue about how much you already got then argue before you buy. At least with option A, I already have my stuff.

After 3 weeks, I will have 4 78mm batteries, 1 x2 manual, 1 x2 auto, 5 clearos, 30 cartos (used of course), and about 150 ml of juice and I am buying some ce3s and more cartos at some point soon. I am hoping that it will just level to juice and cartos/CE3 or about $50/month. Lets just hope that the FDA just makes it a little more $$ or I am going to start smoking pipes.
