Hello everyone,

I've been vaping on and off for about 4 months and doing a lot of lurking in this forum. I started off with a 510 kit but the charger broke after 3 weeks and I started back on analogs after leaving them alone the whole time I was vaping. then I found this site and all the knowledge here. I started out looking for a charger to replace the broken one and ended up buying the DSE 905.

I've been using the 905 for 4 weeks now and I'm very happy with it, mainly the battery life. But Im now looking into investing in as hv pv but im a little confused with all the battery options and hv atomizers.

I've done research on the Xhaler and Ikenvapes Chameleon. I'm leaning toward the Chameleon if I can find one because the xhaler seems a little confusing with the knob to adjust voltage and the different battery options.

Does anyone here have any oppinions on either of the models or something else to recomend. I just want to step it up a little so I dont get bored and go back to analogs. Plus its become like a hobby to me.

Also, does anyone have any thought on the low olms atomizers thats supose to make a 3.7v vape like 5v?

Thanks

Mike

I don't have (nor is it appropriate that I have) a position on XHaler vs. Chameleon (although they both are worthy of your consideration). I'll just point out that the XHaler need not be confusing. If you use a 3.7V 1800 mAh 17670 battery, it will put out 3.7+V for a very long time; if you use two 3.0V 750 mAh CR123A batteries, it will put out 5V or 6V for a long but lesser time. If you tighten the endcap all the way, it generates 5V; loosen it a bit: 6V.

For an overview of virtually all mods (whatever voltage), check out ViZi's outstanding compilation, including a table of what battery and voltage is used in each mod.

High voltage atomizers: Mods 6V or higher can burn out conventional atomizers. To counteract that, HV attys were introduced just a few months about (by NHaler and EastMall). They have a higher resistance (ohms) to balance the high voltage of the batteries, resulting in the "sweet spot" of 8-10 watts power.

watts = voltage(squared) / ohms

Low voltage atomizers yield the same result (following the same "Ohm's Law") for 3.7V batteries. The only low voltage attys I know of are the ones NHaler includes with its new 5V-simulating Magnum and Phidias Woodimus models, but which are not sold separately (at least yet).

Because of continuing safety problems with higher voltage devices (especially with unprotected and/or stacked batts), I believe that devices with high mAh true 3.7V batteries and low-resistance atomizers are the wave of the future. You see, what most of us really want (whether we know it or not) is 8-10 watts of power, not necessarily high voltage. IM(not so H)O.
