i think it went well...at least the council members listened to the vapors...and the few of them actually seemed interested in the products, and wanted to see them up close also.
I watched much of the testimony, and I thought the New York folks did a wonderful job.
I know it was a great deal of effort for people to devote an entire day to attending, but I can say with near certainty that had our people not shown up in force to share their testimony, the ANTZ would have taken the opportunity to spread misinformation about e-cigarettes, and there would have no doubt been discussions about why e-cigarettes should be included in the legislation.
So what are the results of this hearing and how did it go? I don't live in NY, but as vapers, we're all in this together; no matter the distance, in my opinion.
The hearing was designed to get input on the proposed ordinances. We expect that the ordinances will be amended to clearly remove e-cigarettes before any kind of vote. (CASAA provided specific recommendations on how the language could be revised to accomplish this, and the Council was very receptive.)
