Why are you dissing a B&M by name over the price of one CE4? There is no way they can compete with online prices, especially from China. What site did you show him? How it their customer service especially where newbies are concerned? Is he located in a high rent area? Some shops really are out only for themselves while others try hard to help their customers out. You have a fantastic avatar, I’m happy you are apparently thrilled about vaping but your post is very unfair considering the amount of information you have provided. Please consider removing the name of the shop from your post.

I didn't mention B&M... I've never even seen a B&M store.

As far as what site i showed him, i just googled "ce4 clearomizer" and showed him the prices of a few of them on the first page of results.

Their store is located in a strip mall, in a tiny tiny town. Pretty much the only smoke shope within 50 miles, there is a college here though.

As far as the man's attitude, no, I've dealt with this man twice now, and he isn't the most friendly.

sadly, many people screw others this way...

It's not just small stores. Department stores are the same - you want that blender now, today? $10 for the convenience of buying it at Macy's, or wherever. You can get close to online prices with Walmart, though.

I would like to see more vendors go through Amazon, though, as a Prime member, but the Amazon cut would probably kill their margins.

The strip mall shops are the worst, for anything, they're the reason the expression "fly by night" was invented. There's one in Berkeley who is abusing the fact that there's a dedicated vape shop in the building next door, and sells cheap junk and Chinese liquids at inflated prices - and has a sign on the sidewalk with "ECIGS HERE!" - the shop is one of those closet sized ones that sells mostly candy, soda and incense.

B&M isn't a store name or brand name, it's short for "Brick & Mortar" meaning a location as opposed to online. And I'm a witness, there was no store name mentioned in the original post.

There you go. Just keep shopping online and make sure you have plenty of everything you need so you don't wind up having to stop in there for something in an emergency. Maybe a different one will open locally with better prices and drive him out of business. DIY juice is a good answer too if you are so inclined.

Did you order the Rainbow twist?

I got "ripped off" before I found out how much cheaper it is online. However, I did get the expertise I needed as I didn't know anything about them. I have a feeling if I didn't get ripped off in a store I would have never quit smoking. I have mixed feelings on the issue but I will say that my $145 for 2 eGo twist 1100mah, 2 clearomizers, 30ml juice, charger and case was the best money I have spent, even though I could have gotten it cheaper online.

My friend was buying the CE4 for $8.00 and I thought that was outrageous. She was also using one for a whole month. The thing tasted terrible. I now buy them for her online and get them for less than $1.64 each including free shipping. I want her to upgrade but she doesn't want to muck around with changing out heads even though I tell her it's no harder than screwing a new one in.

I've used mine since this past sunday, as soon as i get my kanger is, i'm retiring my ce4 for "emergancy" use only. And hopefully within the next month i'll be getting another kanger or something similar. I also have a pack of coils coming with my kanger. I figure i'm good for a while.

I go through coils like crazy with my dark, sweet juices. One might last me two days but now that I rebuild them, I don't clean them at all. I just replace with a new one.

I don't know, I have a different take on the local B&M's. If you're not familiar with running a business, it might surprise you. Lease? $1K to $3K a month. Wages? $1k to $10K a month. Taxes? There goes about 25-50% of any profit. Outlay of the shop? $3K to $10k+. Marketing and advertising? $500-$2K a month. There's a thousand things that are going to cost money. It takes a LOT of selling things at a $10-$30 markup to cover all that and hopefully make a modest profit.

The value of the local B&M is you can get what you need, right away. I believe it's important to develop a relationship here, mainly because it's these guys that are going to bail you out when things don't go right with online suppliers or USPS. Plus, you're helping your community and it's more than likely any money you spend here will stay in your community. Does that hold any weight? To me, it does.

I'm not excusing poor owners or anything like that, but I see a lot of people dissing their local B&M's because of the prices. Yes, we can support Walmart and send all our money overseas, but how does that help us here at home? In fact, some could argue that it's this concept that's hurting America's job markets and destroying local communities. You DO want a good job, right? Cheap always has a price and it's usually not in the cost of the goods. Just something to think about.

The nearest B&M shop to me that carries vape hardware is a mixed bag. Staff seems knowledgeable and generally pleasant, but the markups are pretty crazy. I was interested in an MVP v2, checked the price and they wanted 90$. Juice is reasonably priced there though, so I'll stop in when I need the occasional bottle of something different.
