Hello REOville. This might have been identified by others in earlier posts, but figured I'd share a find yesterday for the RM2 o-ring. The stock o-ring just wasn't thick enough to keep the RM2 tight on the REO at the hole position I like. I went to Lowes and picked up a box of #7 O-Rings for $3 (box of 10), and they fit perfect. I stretched it out as Super-X described in one of his videos and I now have a nice tight fit with no fluid accumulating on the cup. Hope this helps...

So are they more like the size of the bottles o-ring?

Yes #7 is the oring size for the bottle cap, 1/16" wall. 1/16" wall is commonly the thinnest found in US hardware stores.

I used to use 7/16" x 9/16" x 1/16" orings, no stretching needed but they were too tight for all my Reos except my VVG. And I like my atties very tight.

I use 1.5mm x 10mm orings which is slightly thinner than 1/16" wall, again no stretching required. I noticed Robert carries these on the site now. 1.2mm - 1.3mm wall would be better for those who like a snug but not tight fit.

But metric orings aren't commonly found in hardware stores. Might get lucky & find them at Lowes. My Lowes ordered some by accident (brasscraft 0535) & how I came to use them, then I ordered them on my next supplies purchase at Mcmaster.

In the place where they have O-rings....they'll have a whole shelf of them, and they are clearly marked right on the box. You won't have any trouble finding the #7 O-rings. They're in the electrical section. Also, at my Lowe's, the Noalox is by the multimeters. Nobody at Lowe's (been to three different stores) EVER knows where the Noalox is or WHAT it is. :)

So, I'm going to HD today after work for a few things to include some Noalox.

Now, so I don't look dumb in there (which I tend to do), I can just ask someone for #7 o-rings and they should be able to know exactly which ones I'm talking about, right? Or do I need to be even more specific?

#7 (Danco) oring is 1/2" OD x 3/8" ID x 1/16" wall. Unless you want the extras for the bottle, if you get 9/16" OD x 7/16" ID x 1/16" wall you won't have to mess with stretching, just drop em right into the catch cup. 1/16" wall is too thick for me though.

To clarify, as far as I can tell #7 is Danco's designation. SAE standard for the 1/2 x 3/8 x 1/16 is actually -012 size. 9/16 x 7/16 x 1/16 is -013 size.

Ditto for Home Depot. I finally found it myself hanging in the electrical section near all of the wire crimps and misc. tools.

Yep. Happened when I went to Home Depot. Tried using your tip about the Noalox being by the multimeters, but alas, it was two aisles over.
Asked for help finding it (Yes, requested assistance in a hardware store; I've already turned in my man-card ;) ) and the gentleman had no idea what or where Noalox was. He brought me to some other compound and and right above it..."Oh hey. There it is. Thanks for the help."

are these the same size o-rings to help fit the RM2 cap better near the air hole?
I actually ran the cap back and forth over a flat metal file, shaving a bit off the bottom. Stopped several times to check the progress. as you shave it shorter the air hole rotates around clockwise. My air hole used to be right at the drain hole, now its right between the posts.

great idea- but I'm not a confident self-modder. I can replace, I can install, but I cannot successfully modify to my desired result.
we all need to suck at something, I suppose. lol
