The effect of tobacco cessation on weight gain, obesity and diabetes risk

so should we compare vaping to smoking ( clearly a win for vaping )
or
vaping to smoking cessation products
that would be up for grabs
but the simple fact is
everytime i gave up smoking for 6 months plus i gained horrendous amounts of body fat ( call it what it is )
so my question for any posters here is
if you have given up smoking before .... did you gain weight ?

so how much safer for the many is vaping over the % of those that will become obese and garner even more life threatening health problems

its not a field i believe we have investigated ... that being ... health positives of vaping

I did not gain any weight when I switched to vaping.
I have heard of people gaining weight after quitting smoking cold turkey, but is that not mostly due to increased appetite? If so this could mitigated by will power.
