I made the switch in order to quit smoking. I haven't had a cigarette since January 19th.

Some of my observations after five weeks of vaping exclusively:

Every vape shop I have looked into seems to think they are the ultimate authority on what is good and/or correct, as well as the final arbiter of vaping 'cool'.
Some of them I agree with, others- not so much. I just get what I like and go with it. It works better for me that way.

I prefer Clearomizers and eGo VV Batteries. I like simplicity. I don't want to futz around with circuit boards, coils, wicks, and volt meters. The set up I have now is pretty good. I can take it with me and using it is simple; Set the voltage, hold the button, take a drag, enjoy.

Cloud chasing does not interest me, and dripping seems like more of a pain in the ... than I'm willing to deal with.

I love the variety of flavors that are available, and I am slowly building a juice collection. I have also learned that I do not like VG based juice. It leaves an oily feeling on my tongue, and it mutes the flavor of the juice.

I have learned is that finding a good clove flavor is like questing after the holy grail. Most of the clove liquids I have sampled are just plain clove extract- which is nothing like a Sampoerna Xtra or Djarum Special. Apparently, it's just not popular enough for most juice makers to bother with. I have seen a few listed online, but I really prefer to sample a flavor before I buy it.

I did find a couple of Root Beer flavors I like, but a good clove flavor remains elusive. In spite of my previously stated preference for simplicity, I may have to start making my own juice in order to get a good Clove flavor.

Sometimes, I find myself wanting a cig, but whenever I smell a cigarette, can't believe that I ever actually liked them! Maybe I'm more sensitive to the chemicals in them now, or my pallet has normalized- but I doubt I'll ever go back to smoking.

Unfortunately many vape shops tend to take on the elitist mentality. But I'm sure you will find one that you like that won't have that vibe to them. Once you find them, you tend to stick with them.

As far as that clove flavor goes, it's not a very popular flavor as you said. I'm the same way where I HAVE to try something before I buy it otherwise I just don't feel comfortable spending the money on it.

Unfortunately for some of these not-so-popular juices, your best bet is to order blind and hope for the best. If you can, order a small sample sized bottle and try that first, so if it doesn't pan out, it's not a big of a hit on the wallet. Another tip is to watch youtube reviews on juices. that has helped me find so many of my all day vapes that I use today. In fact, most of them are ones that I bought blind, solely based on youtube reviews.

Hope that helps.

I'll never go back to smoking those nasty cigs either man. They really do smell horrible, and if vaping starts costing far more than it is now I'll either try to make my own eliquid or i'll just have to quit all together.

As far as a good clove flavor... I don't know what clove is lol. I just vape on blue berry and happy rancher from mtbakervapor and I've been enjoying pretty much only those 2 flavors for 9 months. Not to mention they are very affordable.

I'm the opposite with you on the vg based eliquids. I got some happy rancher 100% vg and ya there is a bit of flavor muting but in my rda It's hardly noticeable, and I don't mind building my own coils ect, I think it's kinda fun actually :D

It's refreshing to see a vaper happy with clearomizers and ego vv batteries. I started on these but after about 2 months I needed more vapor and more power lol. I still have my old ego-c twist and a little box full of iclear 16's. I guess they will serve as a back up if my main setup fails for whatever reason.

Happy vaping!
