So I picked up a few new juices at my local B&M, new shop that just opened up so figured Id pay it a visit. 10ml of 6mg Blueberry Pomegranate juice, not sure of pg/vg ratio.
I put the juice into my tank along with a fresh 1.2 ohm OCC coil. Primed and let it sit for ~10 minutes, same thing I always do. It was vaping fine for about an hour, but then I kept getting a very burnt taste and dry hits. I figured the coil might be a dud so I swapped it out. Again with this new coil, about 10 mins in I experienced the same thing.
Now my thoughts are that it is too high of a vg for the coil, if so, how would I go about lowering this? Or is it something else that is causing it?

edit: vg not pg my mistake.

I would find out what that PG/VG ratio is. If you're using the older OCC coils then you really shouldn't go any higher than 80% VG. If it's higher than that, there is your problem. The juice is too thick to wick properly. You get good taste while you're vaping through the juice you used to prime the coil, but as that juice is used up it's not able to draw in enough to keep the wick saturated.

Maybe try taking a little bity screw driver, like pin needle size and play with the cotton a little bit where the juice flow holes are. I hae did this before and it solved my problem. Dont' mess with it too much though or you might get flooding. Some flavors are easier to get burnt hits as well depends on the flavor and the power you are running it at. I have noticed this myself depending on what flavor I am vaping on. Like I said though play with the cotton a little bit around the juice flow holes maybe poke a just a little bit of tiny holes or fluff the area of cotton more. if the cotton is too stiff it will not wick very good sometimes. This depends on you VG PG ratio the wicking that is. But I run max vg most of the time in my tanks and I always just play the the wicking to suit my needs and how I vape. Its like customizing you know? But yeah fluffing the cotton by the juice flow holes where the cotton is thinner and easier to wick will help you wicking wonders. I have learned all of this on my own and know exactly how you feel about what you are experiencing. Trust me. lol

No, PG is thinner than VG and will more easily reach the coil.

What are your settings?
Coil Resistance(Ohms)?
Wattage or Voltage?
Device Type?
VP/VG ratio of e-liquid

Cotton burning is usually from to high wattage to coil. Simple solution is to start at a lower wattage and see what happens.

EKK My mistake, I meant to put PG,
My coil is 1.2 ohms
watt 7.5-12
Istick 30w
Ratio unknown.

I added distilled water to the liquid (a few drops) and it is vaping a tiny bit better, but still getting dry/burnt hits.

Is this a Local Brand(store mix)? if not, give the Brand and Flavor for look up.

Sounds more like you are using a straight VG(max VG) Juice. Some of those are okay but some are mixed with true, non-aquios VG and very thick.
