Greetings fellow vapers!

Well, I finally put my foot down and did two things to support the vaping industry: I joined CASAA and sent an email to various politicos in Texas. And even to the Head Honcho himself, our Commander in Chief!

As you may already know by some of my postings, I am a former smoker who had tried just about everything under the sun to quit tobacco products. None worked.

And then I seriously started considering vaping. This was back in August 2015. I did a TON of research, and in October, purchased my first set, followed shortly thereafter with my second set.

Though vaping is not 'officially' deemed as a smoking cessation aide, I can personally vouch for it's effectiveness. Tobacco free for over a month, and still counting! No cigs, no cigars, not even a single puff from my pipe! I tossed the last few ounces of pipe and cigarette tobacco (I sometimes rolled my own cigarettes when time allowed). I haven't looked back since that fateful October day and I want to keep it that way. If that's not considered a success story, I don't know what is, LOL.

So, waddaya say? Have our voices heard and save our vapes? I'll do anything within my power to remain tobacco free for the rest of my life.

To quote from Aragorn: "What say you!"

Absolutely. Although many would argue that the pols don't care one whit about our opinions, at least I can say I did what I could at the end of the day. I'm a letter/email/phone call kind of guy from way back (and I vote, too!).

Hmmm. Not sure what that means, but I think you're calmly watching from the sidelines?

That would be my guess?

Just finished reading an email from my local senator thanking me for letting my views be known. The reply was non-commital, but at least he knows where I stand on this issue.

No, he does not know. Reply was sent by some intern. But (may be) intern keeps a spreadsheet where she/he has counters of pro and contra vaping emails.

This is Exactly what happens.

When you send your Senator an Unsolicited e-Mail, unless some Huge pops out - like you want to know how to send Him/Her a Large Sum of Money, it is read by a Staffer.

That Staffer then makes an Entire into a DataBase of the senders Opinion.

HawaiianVaporTrailz = Registered Voter - Yes/No
HawaiianVaporTrailz = Pro e-Cigarettes
HawaiianVaporTrailz = Pro HR-2058
etc...

Then the Staffer selects the Closest matching form reply, perhaps amends it slightly - perhaps not, and replies to the sender "On Behalf" of the Senator.

When something comes up that might require the Senator to cast a Vote, this DataBase is Referenced. Not Say'n that the Senator is always going to Vote in Accordance with what Constituents have e-Mail Him/Her saying that they want. But the DataBase is Referenced to get a Pulse on what the Percentages look like.

So you are Both, in a way, Correct.

HawaiianVaporTrailz's Senator might not Actually know that HawaiianVaporTrailz is Pro e-Cigarettes. But the Senator does know that there was a Person who did e-Mail Him/Her that was.

Of course, it 500 ANTZ's e-Mail their Senator and say they are Against e-Cigarettes, and only 147 e-Mail and say they are For e-Cigarettes, well, when it comes time for the Senator to do something, He/She will Probably feel they aren't going to incur much Backlash.

Or Swing the Polls by their Actions in the Next Election.
