I'm noticing someething strange when I change my wicks on my Cyclone. One of the coils looks clean but the other coil always looks blacker and dirtier, for lack of a better term. I make sure the screws are tight whenever I change wicks. The coils are the same size and even rebuilt both coils the other day thinking maybe there was an issue with the one. I just went to change wicks again and noticed that the same thing is happening with the new coils. One is clean and the other dirty. Any ideas from you Cyclone experts on what they issue might be? I can post a pic but you would basically see what I've described. Thanks.

Sounds like excess juice is gunking up the coil on the side you tilt towards the most.
Is the coil thats darker on the side of the cyclone that tilts downwards when you vape?

That happened when I tried running duals in my RM2, but I saw that not all the excess juice was going back down, and would just sit in a pool moving around when I tilted it. It just burns off on one of the coils

Another good idea to check. You may be on to something as well. I've made note of position on Reo and will check next wick. Thanks!

Good question. One does heat up a little quicker but not much. Both are bright orange from the center out. I'd be interested in what the cause is and how to correct. Thanks for the information.
I've found that compressing with the pliers or running the mandrel back through the coil can change how fast they heat up, with a little fiddling I've been able to get them very close. Also let them cool between tries. Cool coils show the heat up difference more than warm coils.

The wick is acting as a filter.

The impurities are collecting at the end that is closest to the feed end of the wick.. Change wick more often or use juice with less sweetener.. Dry burn ( without a wick) until to black remains. I burn until there is no smoke. Brush the ashes gently off the coil and re wick. A wick will last me a few days maybe even a week on plain vg/nic but once you run a sweet juice ( I recall you liking Nicoticket and Honey Do all very sweet) you will need to re wick very other day or every day and clean thoroughly.

I run Nicoticket most of the time and I have to change my wick about every other day. Depends on the juice and how much I've been vaping, sometimes I change it every day. Also StillMaticc hit the nail on the head. If both your coils heat up the same then it's probably the coil either most often pointed away from you when you vape or the coil furthest from the juice hole.

At least this has been my experience.

At times it makes me want to stick to single coils. LOL

You've got a good memory. I don't do Uncle Junks anymore. All Nicoticket now. I pretty much do like you say. I get lazy and sometimes go 3 days or longer with same wick. I need to change more often.
