Well I purchased a Vaporizer starter kit for my wife yesterday. She was willing to try. My friend at work told me how he quit smoking and now I see him vaping and all happy. Anyway he was at the vapefest in Chicago,IL last night. He picked up a pink EVOD start kit for me(I owe him $35) the 900mah version. yes I will pay him Monday when I see him. My wife has had 1 cig since I returned home with the Vaporizer yesterday. Normally by now she would have had at least 6. I am proud of her. I am giving our 23 year old son who does not live at home the starter kit I purchased yesterday as I will be bringing the pink EVOD kit home from work for my wife. I have never smoked so I really do not understand what is the draw to it, but love my wife and son and want to do whatever is needed to help them quit. Wife hates Menthol E-juice and prefers Sweet tarts by the Vapor shop Machesney Park, IL. Hope you all don't mind a non vapor person hanging out here.

take care

Well it just shows how much you care about them. I keep on trying to persuade my Mum to give them a try, think she's finally coming round now, she's actually started asking me questions about them now, instead of me initiating the conversation.

Good luck to your nearest and dearest, hope they enjoy the transition from smoking to vaping. Any questions, there's plenty of helpful and friendly people on here that are always willing to help :)

I think it is awesome what you have done for your wife and son. Supporting them in kicking the habit with a healthier and enjoyable alternative is a great thing. Next thing you know they will want VW or regulated mods, mechanicals, RBAs and then they will start dripping. You will have spools of Kanthal lying around and torn apart cotton balls. All of this is a good thing.

Good for you!

While I, personally, wouldn't suggest a non-smoker should vape, I've found vaping the be the ONLY thing that got me away from burning and inhaling plant material. After patches, gum, cold turkey... none of which worked, vaping did the trick for me. After 45+ years smoking, I've been a non smoker for about 1 1/2 years now, and have seen improvements in my health.

Recent real research is showing that it is, at worst, less than 5% as harmful as smoking, and probably a lot less.

Yes, she'll need a second battery, charger and spare coils for whatever topper you got in the kit. Nothing worse than starting on this process and having a dead battery, or a failed charger.

Surf around ECF and read up some on cleaning the clearo, dry-burning the coils. Good maintenance goes a long way to having a good vaping experience.

I think that you would do well to hear testimonials and a bit of the science behind e-cigs. There are plenty of that on ECF.

For me, I smoked for 30+ years and it affected me mentally, physically, emotionally and socially. I stank, couldn't smell, taste and my body deteriorated. All those chemicals in cigarettes do damage.

Then, I noticed friends vaping and I looked into it. Initially, it just seemed a medically better idea.

Whenever I tried to quit, I couldn't. Oh yes, temporarily, but it did not replace the enjoyments of smoking. The patches, pills, etc. just don't replicate taking into me like a cigarette did. They didn't work.

What did work, was using a vaporizer instead of a cigarette. When I get up in the morning, I like my coffee and having a cigarette physically in my hand and all the actions and thought that go with that. What did I reeeally want? I wanted nicotine, I am dependent on it. Well, I get that still. When I finish a meal and am sitting fat and happy, I want what the nicotine smoking gives me. Well, I get that. The only thing in common between a cig and an e-cig is tobacco though.

People say that there are other things in e-cigs, but they don't say that it is in such small amounts that it is negligible. Breathe air in a city, that is really bad. Had coffee today? What about a soft drink? Did you know that Doritos have 124 ingredients? I don't know anyone that can turn one away. Learn the facts about this, not the people wanting to scare people, they have an agenda where big money is involved. They use that money to manipulate and skew the truth in the eyes of decision-makers AND the people.

Really, the bottom line for me is whether vaping is better or worse that smoking.

(I save money, too. My buying vaping stuff likes that. :D)

I agree with every one else!! It is great that you are so supportive!!!

I understand that since you have never been a smoker you do not understand the draw to it.. But really it is not a draw ... it is an addiction.
A very very bad one! Some studies have shown that cigarettes are more addicting than certain street things that I will not name per ECF rules :)

It is wonderfully refreshing to read of someone so supportive of his family!!
We often read here about members trying to switch to vaping and their families are less than supportive and sometimes those non supportive people are actual smokers themselves!

Cool, she already has backups except for the Wire Charger and wall adapter. Hopefully no urgency on those, but good to have. Murphy was an optimist :)

Welcome and congrats on your support of those that vape. Glad things are going well for your family. Would recommend that you direct both your son and wife to join the ecf too. There's just an incredible amount of information and ways to vape, that it would be a benefit to their progress and understanding.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

P.S.: The cat bites!

I have sent them both the link to the forums here. Hope they sign up. I can't figure out how anybody could not support their loved ones. My 6 and 12 year old will wake me up if I do not have my cpap mask on. We try to build a team mentality at our house. Each member is very special and important. I will be getting a few extras so neither of them have an excuse to go back to analogs unless they just simply want to, it won't be because charger stopped working no replacement coils no empty juice containers lol
