Oddy strange Taste

Hi Guys, I just found an oddy on the classies, it hasnt had much use, all the upgrade kit still in the new bags, but anyway, I wicked and coiled it yesterday, didnt think it had a good taste, I used the same wick and coil I used in my Iatty, I remember reading the soapy taste senario on here, so I contacted the chap I got it from andit never had the ceramic changed from new, just noticed Cam in the UK hasnt got any anyway, so my question was is there a good proven way of cleaning the ceramic to revert the taste to being as good as possible, I cant really say it is a soapy taste just not as for example my Iatty which has a better taste, It just taste great sort of thing, I did clean it before I built it, only the same way as I do with all my stuff, hot water etc,
Any advice or findings please chaps

i burnt the ceramic over the stove to get rid of the soapy taste..

i think the taste u are experiencing now, is the wick taste?? which is what i taste everytime fixing up a new coil..

juz keep using it and eventually the taste will be gone.

I dont usually use metal mouthpieces, and it almost taste metalicky,(spelling), I did use A1 kanathal with two strands of CE2 wick, but has a blanks taste and slightly metalicky, cant say it is soapy, not that impressed, prefer my Iatty so far for flavour, what say you guys please???

Grant, if you watch Scott Bonners's Odysseus review over on YouTube, you will see a little segment in there where he burns the ceramic over a stove.

yes i also have the metallic taste, but it will go away after using awhile...

I believe Kanthal also have a break in period. The metallic taste is prolly from there.

you can try tampering it with a normal lighter before coiling. Tho is is done mainly by Genesis type users.

I didn't have a burner to use so just went over it with a flame from a lighter a few times then rinsed it off. Off flavor gone.
